Dimi-just wondering if it could be the Directors of Acacia taking up share options (as I remember they have a large number) and so you could be right they know something is going on and also want to make use of the tax year?

Could also be with Randgold leaving the FTSE 100 that one of the larger fund managers like Prudential are starting to come back in here, afterall the Company is now making good profit in an extremely difficult political climate.

Lots of reasons for the increase today in my opinion. Stock abc has closed his short, -maybe not, but we have big rumours abound, a govt in tatters and losing votes of an Orderly Brexit, other Euro govts :- Spain, Italy France, all having problems and the German economy even struggling. China deal hope with the US, and the Fed reserve putting the brake on rate increases. So much going for us here now -All in support -Happy days!

Considering everything thrown against it by the GOT - still making good money. Perhaps the Got will see how working together than against will produce more for them too. I just do not understand the market some days, this share should be well over £2 a share by now!

Could be Brexit issues now pushing Gold up, and if it continues to close at current levels tonight, the price will show rises at the set interval measurement periods, whether it be at :- today's, 30 days, 6 Mths, 1 year, 5 yrs or even 16 years. Interestingly Gold has now risen by over 8% in the past six months!
This has got to help us whatever happens!

Yes the game was over "shorter" than when it first started. Short tracker shows MW just below the 0.50% recording level again tonight. I am sure this is just a currency play. i.e they bet that the dollar would fall, but today it actually grew in strength, and so all Companies earning in Usd will benefit especially when sterling is falling.
It will be interesting to see how long it is before Aca send out a RNS to say the Blackrock interest has changed in line with their changing financial instruments.

Last time MW played their card we felt it was due to currency movement anticipation. This game play is a gambe as you say as even though the Wall St. Banks say they think USD will fall, the traders do not? Gold and sterling are pretty stable so it seems at the moment - although lots is going on worldwide, including Brexit or not?

So if appears as we have said before more than a mere coincidence everytime Black rock reduce, MW increase their shorts. B/rock appear to be working their financials to suit.
Announcement from Aca with RNS.

My conversations with the press officers both past and present have always said to me Barrick is negotiating as the major shareholder, as their connections with the president are such he respects their authority. However they are all in no doubt that they need to report back to the Acacia board. The flipside is that if the talks do not bear any fruit at all for Acacia they will / be in no doubt continue with the arbitration proceedings that are currently at the legal stand of a "standstill agreement" and so they will not be time barred. We will be getting a conclusion one way or another. As I say a good place to be here with the cherry being this Company still produces cash. If the Govt stop this production with further restrictions the Company will issue the proceedings. We all hope the talks will come to a conclusion, but the Board of Acacia do have a back stop. For legal reasons I do not see this as anything other than a solution first and then we can discuss if Acacia continue on their own or prefer to report to shareholders that a sale is recommended. However as said before by the time this issue is sorted this share will be worth a whole lot more anyway, as stock is right this share is artificially being held down due to the difficulties.

Seen all the comments, thanks for all the updates. We all have different opinions and some more negative than others. All have one thing common however we can all see efforts being made to resolve a situation, but a situation that is very strange with a Company still producing profits. Imagine what they will produce if the dispute is settled, either by way of negotiated settlement or by arbitration. Most if not all here want to make money. I am happy to wait and if it were me at the slightest opportunity to sell in full to Barrick, I would resist, and as we have waited for such a long time now, we may as well get the best price, or carry on regardless and so if we produce more we will make more money anyway. Either way a win, win.
For those who cannot see this they are shorters, and so please ignore them like I do.

See J.P. Morgan raised its rating on Acacia to GBP2.00 a share - so not sure if this influenced the sudden jump at close or not? Morning Star make mention of too.

Certainly should help us here as remember Acacia's earnings as recently reported have now increased over original estimates and thus should also help any rating score.

Announced more patience - less likely to increase rates, may even cut rates if required, no further forward guidance given today on raising rates? Could mean Dollar falling -Gold rising? Lets see, could be good news for those shareholders here.

I see for today headliners being Jerome Powell is talking 2.00pm US time to announce the latest US rate decision (most expect him to indicate less likely for an increase in Fed rates) which should help us, and also the US trade talks restart in Washington today.

Stock you are on your own with this one, and yet always question anyone who studies your motives for being negative.

I feel you have sold your shares and are hoping Acacia falls to buy back in again. If you have studied the Acacia share price you will see that we actually do track the Gold price which is expected as a price increase does affect fundamentals, and stock in trade, of which there is a lot.
