This is a Paragraph released on 11th Feb 2019 with the unaudited Acacia results ended 31/12/18 and so if the situation as we know is clearer then expect good news soon. Perhaps a reason for the delay due to a due diligence?.

The timetable and successful completion of any discussions in relation to any such transaction are likely to be inextricably linked to the Company’s ability to reach a comprehensive agreement with the GoT in order to settle historic disputes and provide a stable future operating environment."
............interesting.as Acacia may be left with many permutations as I said earlier in the week.

Hi Huwie- I did laugh, as I think I would say this is Brexit, this is Trump, and normal do not apply anywhere, and so even more reason to be in the precious metals. We just do not know what will happen here do we or anywhere else. What share is safe? I can still see we have recovered well over the past year on where we were two years ago. All shares have risk, and people are prepared to take risk for profit.
However for this share it does appear as if we had some support towards the end of the session.

Terrible USA jobs report shows only extra 20k payrolls which will mean there is no way the Fed can talk about raising rates. Dollar is now falling and Gold has spiked up. Good news for Gold miners is the higher Gold price.

I can see the price of Gold going over $1300 very soon.

Relations appear to have improved with the G.O.T. and Acacia per the last release.

We are also due the Acacia Annual report very soon due in March. Hopefully then we will actually get some direction. If not a positive note before.

There must be a lot going on behind the scenes I cannot believe in anything else to be honest. I am sure Barrick would not be releasing incorrect statements as they would be liable if the were. -Keep positive.

Trouble us with my attitude you are always up for CGT.

However it is interesting in that the last release re. N.Mara does actually show for the first time in ages that the G.O.T and Acacia are actually working very well together and so this clearly shows relations have improved.

There is going to be a annual report / announcement (March) due soon and so maybe we will hear more then?

We have Brexit now starting to look ugly, and the Gold price starting to move back up and is now very close to the USD1,300 an oz level again where we last started to see the Acacia price moving up. The rise in Gold as BB has said before is now even greater in Sterling and the price rise has been over 7% in sterling over the past 6 months alone.. This will help profits and what's more for Acacia the value of the Gold held in stock and in the containers at the ports.

STB you are appearing to be negative with your views to be honest. Do you actually own any shares or are you hoping you can force them down to then be able to buy some at a lower price?
Some on here have invested for two or three years and now realize a conclusion is coming with new opportunities but although we would like to see a step forward we are not under the same pressure you appear to be under i.e. for this to happen within the next half an hour. If you are that worried I would move on to another share.

BB - I see voting positions increasing with financial instruments to 15.64% (just short of 16%) as opposed to 15.31% sound familiar with lending out for shorts later?
I do hold CEY as well as Aca. I see short term gains from Aca but I would not write off CEY as I do see something else in CEY for the longer term I will mention later after any Aca deal
I think the mining news follows a lot of my thoughts at the moment regarding the whole Mining industry.

Even the old names are coming out again now in Mining News on the back of the mega mergers, exciting times for anyone invested in a Gold Company we will hopefully get a lift on sentiment alone!

Sorry to provide a side show but did anyone else notice that B/Rock have now increased their share now in CEY to almost 16% whilst holding certain amounts in Financial Funding instruments? There seems to be a theme here? I also note that B/Rock are not only into Newmont, Barrick and Acacia whilst increasing their stake in Centamin too.

B/rock must have a lot of knowledge in the market here.... Something is going on here for sure as I said the other day. Perhaps more going on than even we have anticipated?

I know you will not agree with me but I feel old Barrick and new Barrick and not the same thing. The new CEO is very much in favour of his reputation in Africa that made Randgold so great. I cannot see him giving this experience up. In fact he has already shown his worth if he has brokered a final solution here in Tanzania. However until Acacia accept it the deal reported in the press is pure speculation. We are also taking in what JT has said previously that he is sure the Chinese will be buyers but nothing is written in stone. I still see here many different permutations but almost all at this stage are positive for the better. Whilst we appear to be on the slow boat to China I would not even be thinking about selling our prized assets on the cheap.

Report back with their answer. Make sure you buy your shares in advance however. There is no hope in waiting for them to fall we are all waiting for lift off.

Chaps I don't really care which way we go as there do seem to be lots of permutations here, but one thing is for sure that we all agree on and that is the price for Acacia is going to significantly move to the upside very soon. My next target is back to £2.30 (hopefully within a few days) then back over £2.50 and on up to £2.80 for a breather (if we get a chance) before we get some news and go over £3.00. We will see and my opinion doesn't seem to count but I am not often wrong - still we will see which way this one goes, but as I say I am relaxed about this share & it is fun.

BB's as you know timing is always very important Usd7bn savings will give them Acacia for free!!!

It was reported previously that attempts to buy Newmont would have resulted in a non core asset sale to sell off parts of the business that the miners were not interested in (such as the Oil producing side) also that Barrick and Newmont had tremendous overlap which could also result in other certain projects being sold off with also additional cost savings. As the two companies are so large we are talking big savings here, which makes me wonder if the savings would be sufficient to buy out Acacia? Perhaps this is the reason for the approach to Newmont first with no rush on Acacia as the funds are being found? If so a very clever way of funding and adding value.

Hi Elly, yes I can see Acacia are playing all this takeover talk down and I suppose they are still trying to promote the Company working as an Independent Company in its own right. After all this is jobs self preservation. If they were serious you would expect them to start share buy backs from their shareholders which will increase demand and the share price. However I think their time is limited at being independant and will run out, they come up with a solution very fast. Barrick and MB will not wait long for them to respond. I cannot believe that they have not had any feedback from Barrick on such a breakthrough. Whether they want to start share buy backs or if the Company is bought out the share price will rise I am sure of that.

I can see if the GOT and MB start creating value then all will want more. Why not. I can see new mines being opened and as you said BB there must be over Usd400m in containers at the ports. I also see how the copper and other metals production from Acacia from the composites has reduced and once the Gold is extracted there will be bye products too. If all fall in line and the Govt is happy and there is trust this is a win win for the owners and the GOT. The 50% will be more than covered by other gains. As we used to say at Lloyds -just get in with it.

If I was MB and just come to a deal with the GOT for a Company you have the largest shareholding in you would issue a report and let the Company make a decision and move on to other things for a very short time. You would them go back to them for the answer. if it was not the right answer then you would have to re explain to get the right answer. Once the right answer is here we will know soon enough. Didn't Brian Clough once say something like they didn't know it was the right answer until I told them. Time will tell, but MB is not a patient man.;
