Buller... can we let Boris's new trendy hair cut (Vadal Sassoon?), or his newly "trim" waist, go to waste? Surely his new stately imagine must place him high now amongst the top three candidates?
And we definitely can't let his nemesis, slimy Gove (have you seen his white, hairless, spindly legs in shorts?) step into Tressa May's stillletoes, either, now, can we? Sadly, I can see no one in the Tory cabinet as steadfast and pragmatic as May - although, ironically, being a remainer, she is the worst "man" for the Brexit job.
Fully in agreement with much of what has been said. Just like to add... Sending Remainer Teressa to the Brexit table is like sending an arsonist to put out a fire. Or a literary agent who is trying to sell a book that they hate to a publisher.
Several failed attempts to post here yesterday. Kept getting OOps messages from lse. Will try again, to try and put KD37s mind at rest. 'Even with the pound dipping, it was not enough to stop the flow of bdev investors selling (they obviously ignored my sound advise that Bdev is Brexit free!') lol
Properly told off! Now, let me wipe my newly updated shiny glass globe to see what the future holds for this omnipotent stock... Just got to wait until the mist clears, guys... Bear with me... Ah, Is that a bull running up a hill, I see...? Yes! And it has the legend BDEV stamped on one hind quarter and Brexit Free on the other!
Just a few more weeks until EX-div day!
The DUP could mess it up next week in spite of May offering another bung. So think potential sharebuyers will hold back, to wait and see how the voting will go next week. Got some dough burning a hole in my pocket but will wait... Don't want to go in too soon, like I'm prone to (although I always recover!). But, like Mark and Nige, I'm pretty sure this stock is Brexit free!
I wish I had a crystal ball as clear as the one Davielad has. Have ploughed through page upon page in Broadsheets and Tabloids this week in search of someone who definitely KNEW the Brexit End Game. But... there was no one - NO ONE - who came as close as Davielad. So KD37, get that trumpet out again, son, and play the last wotsit. And EVERYONE get to the shops at once and store up with loo rolls!
Checked out the company site, Nige. Glass and steel. Not everyone would like that concept. Maybe ok on top of a hill with no other property around you for miles, and no right of way paths about, either. Maybe some small herds of wandering deer would be ok! Sorry for being an old stick, but I prefer bricks and mortar. And really can't see it as a downsize for affordable housing. You haven't got shares in one of these companies, have you...?
Well, Nige, Barratt must have fully researched their 'cunning plan' and found it to be safe and cost saving. They are not cowboy builders - although they did have a bit of a 'bad' reputation in the seventies, with their timber framed homes... that creaked like old sailing ships in the middle of the night. I can remember! Then, learning their lesson, they went back to solid building. So I am not a fan of 'flat pack' housing. Going round periodically tightening screws with an Allen key doesn't appeal to me!
Two tootsie steps back, then three/ four/ five giant steps forwards... that's the dance pattern on here atm. Need to ditch your inferior builders shares, Nige, and get afloat on here. Catch it on the way down and watch it go back up. And sniff the sweet smell of success. (And just keep one thing in your mind: less tiles per Barratt roof = more money in Barratt's coffers.
Nothing flagged up yet on HL, KD37. There were 2 big payouts last year around about that time. That's what took the sp up to 700p. Maybe Barratt is waiting for profits on tile saving to be factored in before they can decide on a (bigger?) special dividend. Who knows. I'm just enjoying the sweet smell of success atm!
Ah, Mark, I see you are also a fan of Buying And Selling Shares For Dummies. I update mine every year. I wonder if what Barratt saves on roof tiles... will they give back as a Special Dividend, or do a Buy Back?
