Tony - You have been very unlucky in that case. The employment situation you describe is extremely rare and is a very shabby way of operating by the company concerned.
However there is no way 8 heavyweights have aligned themselves with Pensana without having guarantees in place. It is clear for all to see where their cash position was in November 2021. Perhaps one or two wouldn't ask about the cash position, but all 8? And then there is the supply chain!
Without someone guaranteeing payment there is no way yesterday's RNS would have been posted. Unless you can think of another, more plausible explanation.

I am stating that there are funding guarantees in place which have given absolute confidence to all stakeholders.

Tony - let's take a look at the evidence.

1. HMG announces a 'huge' ATF grant without specifying the amount.
2. A team of 8 heavyweights have joined Pensana to deliver the projects
3. Agreements are entered into with contractors, consultants etc
4. Construction at Saltend has begun (whilst, incidentally, the future Chancellor of the Exchequer attends!)

There is literally zero chance that employees/suppliers etc entered into contracts without them having cast iron guarantees in place that they will be paid. Therefore, the only plausible explanation is that an entity is guaranteeing the payments. All you have to do is join the dots, as Theorist has done (but is not prepared to admit).

Theorist - you know full well the finance for Saltend is already guaranteed, so stop talking utter nonsense.
No, I don't believe there will be an announcement in August. As we both know getting things signed off during the month is impossible.
Am I prepared to have a bet with you about the precise timing? No, as I never bet unless I know I am going to win and the timing of the announcement is beyond my control.

Theo - what you don't say in your post tells us a great deal. So far you have asserted that PRE wouldn't get an ATF grant; Artisan Partners would not invest in PRE; PRE wouldn't get planning for the larger Saltend site, and; PRE would not get finance for Saltend.

Like the rest of us, you have now worked out what is going on with finance for Saltend and you recognise it will get built. Therefore, you have shifted your attention away from Saltend as you know that continuing to suggest it won't get built will have a further negative impact on your credibility (difficult I know).

Rather than accept publicly that Saltend will happen, you'd rather focus on Longonjo. Well, I have news for you. Longonjo will get built and the Angolan government will hugely benefit from their investment, along with the rest of long term shareholders and you will be wrong for the fifth time.

You are quite right. I did say that £4m is not huge. However that sum was reported, i.e. it is speculation. In contrast, the government, who are picking up the tab, told us that the figure is 'huge' without specifying the precise sum. It would therefore stand to reason the reported £4m is incorrect and the sum is far higher. Some might even describe it as huge.
On the rest of your diatribe, I am sorry to inform you that I am more inclined to side with the government, M&G, Artisan etc than some anonymous bloke on the internet who has admitted to having no shares in the company and uses this platform to exclusively talk down the chances of Pensana.

And let's be honest Sorrento is a bit of a naff tourist trap. On both counts a fail in my book.

The ATF was reported (i.e speculated) to be £4m. As I've alluded to, £4m is not 'huge' as the government has clearly communicated. I firmly believe the number to be higher than £4m.

Theo - It was reported PRE will receive £4m (not £5m) from the ATF but was never confirmed. Last Thursday the Advanced Propulsion Centre formally announced they are providing Pensana with ATF funding. The amount is undisclosed but the press release header on the gov.uk website references a 'huge financial boost'. I would not call £4m or even £5m huge.
You will also note that the Advanced Propulsion Centre's press release (on their website) also states the 'grant unlocks further investment'.
The tense here is important. Another way of saying it is, further investment is unlocked, meaning the ATF has triggered the unlocking of further funds.
The announcement last Thursday materially changes the entire funding landscape for PRE and whilst there is not an explicit announcement detailing the unlocked funds, it is clear to even the casual observer that an RNS explicitly outlining terms is just around the corner.
Therefore, I would argue that Dao has won the bet as there has been a significant and material change to the funding situation of Pensana.
