Pianista - no as its all relative to ships in operation and how many cabins set aside for covid (They don't stay in the original cabin but moved to a group of cabins set aside so all in same area) -

Food, I watched Iona load with food, about a small supermarket for the week, it is bought in bulk, wholesaler costs and the lorry load divided by the 4100 guests that week will be not much. The £3.5Million for 7 nights income generated will have enough in there for price increases on the lorry load, bought at wholesale rates.
I have heard not a single comments from those on ship or those on the 2-3 FB forums I( watch about recession and not been able to go cruising. That's not to say doesn't effect some.
I lady who had never cruised before last week was asking about some general issue, then she went on to say she has never cruised, but had just booked 3No cruises. What with worries about airports, etc I can not feel but the future is bright for cruising... as long as can pay debt next 3-4 years and doesn't go bust in the mean time !

hautecouture - If you test positive they move you to a group of designated cabins and those are all balcony cabins
pappalazz - admit do not know the figures, but newer ships and those in build are gas and not sure that has been effected as bad as oil - though stand to be corrected - Iona P&O is gas powered, better for environment and tends to be a stable cost fuel

Pianists. Can only speak for p&o. No face masks required. Staff do wear. Testin 24hrs before go, but trialing on Iona, as doing 7 nights only, dropped all testing, next 5 cruises or so, to see what changes can be made.
More are booking and enjoying, however agree the C is always in your mind, I feel if no worse by next year then most just accept risk

You can pay a lot more of course for flasher cabins. That's the trick with CCL, £650 per person to 2-3K for same trip so cater for all.
4100 on the ship capacity 5000. Do not if that's all sold, or it was restricted for Covid.
But I'm thinking if sell an extra 400 persons, that's potentially £320K or 16 Million per year sales for one ship
To me its can they get more on board on all ships and do same across P&O and all fleets and back in business, or at least pay no div and pay off the loan.

4,100 on the ship, I believe it can take 5,000 but do know running deliberately under capacity
Few moans about cut backs, but for me it was well staffed - the FB group I was on all said it was great and looking to rebook. Many were first timers. Apart from travel to get to Southampton, once there car parked, check in, passports etc and in cabin 25minutes after arriving. Try that at an airport.
CCL was initially for the shareholder benefit (£60 to spend on board for a 7 night cruise for holding 100 shares).

Go on my very first in a couple of weeks, reading FB, looks like those going, is going up, lots of new 1st timer cruising which if the various ships get it right may keep those trying it out for 1st time.

Buy buying back and cancelling shares there are less shares and therefore your share is a higher proportion of the company
So if TW decided to give its shareholders an amount of money back as a dividend, as less shares, each share receives a greater amount.
Its disappointing not held up the share price, but I guess that's as many shares, world economy, wars, covid etc
Long term hope for better, I'm well under what paid currently
PS special dividend, in humble done help the price, better just 2 decent dividends when can and keep something back so we don't get another 2008 issues with cash.

TW do not have the issues with poor workmanship that PER have and create

I remember when Wimps built wooden houses, with a brick outer skin. The house went up with a crane from factory built sides, popped a roof on and the trades were in next day, as the trades inside the bricky built the outer-skin. The only reason no plasterers as went over to drywall boarding, but its the same lads doing the job.

Today 25th Jan The Court of Appeal has upheld a High Court ruling that Government cuts to the Feed-in Tariff were unlawful. The three Lords Justices of Appeal announced their reserved judgement this morning following a hearing 10 days ago. Ministers must now introduce the contingency date of March 3 for the start of the 21p rate for solar PV and not the original December 12 deadline. The court judgement also means customers who have had solar panels installed and are registered ahead of the new March 3 cut-off point will now receive the original 43p rate for 25 years. Therefore, the industry has another 5 week period to install at the higher rate of 43.3p. Customers who register on or after March 3 will qualify for the current higher rate until April 1, when it will drop to 21p.
