Pointless been a PLC anyway when two holders hold 90% or thereabouts of the shares.

The reason Hornby struggle is its not the 1950-70's any more. The golden ages passed long ago.

More sales than buys doesnt mean price goes up, generally it would, but as they are probably sitting on more shares from the big sell off then the prices will not rise utill there sold and to seel the price remains low.

Whilst your investment is down 10% in value (With recent 30%) or so are I guess many, but if invested all divident for 6 years, your overall investment is worth less than initial investment or more ?

Im down 24% on the books, but overall maybe 100K£ higher on amount invested, so am I down or up ;)

Rely on prive house builders building private sale dwellings. The smaller builder may take on the social houses if the HA etc decided to do them. Getting told, and having funds, the available bricky/joiner/sparky to apear that doesnt exist will be harder. New build companies just consider private and forget the labour pie in the sky

Whilst going though some uncertainty, as many companies, as a long term holder of TW I’m happy to expect these to get better, long term.

I beleive Div may be a little lower or same, but not a lot lower. Let’s day 4p twice a year

At anyone buying now is investing for a good dividend payout and long term investment with TW.

I reduced my holding by 20k shares when hit 1.6 and reinvested elsewhere as to loaded in TW.

But revered some of that now, taken small profits in Barc, M&S etc and upped my TW. As this will clearly out perform where were at this point.

Let’s see Feb update but as happy to hold 12 months now I’m confident that will be a good investment.

You must remember TW are not interested in those, it’s a side line as they want to private built to private buyers. So doest happen no matter.

UPS and downs- fact is pepole buy new homes. So these businesses will over the ups and down come out smiling.

I see that the Spanish arm are getting on with building.

Its worth remembering as we bash the UK Goverment and their mistakes that TW. are building not just in the UK (Though admit not a lot). News yesterday - Taylor Wimpey España will invest €12.5 million in the first phase of a new residential development in the town of Mijas, Málaga.

Named 'The Meadows,' this new development is situated within the La Cala Golf Resort complex and will feature 26 terraced houses. It forms part of a long-term partnership with the Irish company FBD, which owns the resort.

This joint venture, renewed in April 2023, focuses on constructing more than 600 homes over the coming years.

The new residential project is characterised by its proximity to the sports facilities and amenities of one of the Costa del Sol’s premier golf destinations.

The development is planned in several phases, with the first set to be delivered in October 2026, with prices starting from €620,000. The houses will be spread over three levels and will include a private basement, a fully equipped kitchen, and terraces with views of the Mijas valley.

Porsche..I dont think you really know TW. I asume you hold no TW if belive a poor outfit. Current issue are a few private investers (only 20% prive ownership in TW). and no real reason for the continued drop other than a few private holders getting scarred. Disapointing believe me... but in time, ill be glad buying and not selling.

But its been allowed for. and quote...“We have reassessed the remediation costs based on tenders received in the first half,” said chief executive Jennie Daly. “Based on this updated information and enhanced cost appraisal, the expected fire safety remediation cost has increased by £88 million, taking the total provision to date to £333 million.” 

It comes after the house builder had already allocated £245 million for fire safety remediation works for its entire stock since 2022 amid government pressure, around double what it was just a few years ago.

Not my take on it - But generally TW will concentrate on finishing and handovers this tme of year (work on TW contracts and other builders). End of December is the fiscal year end and so No 1 is handovers and sign off before the 31st December, and less so spending cash on a plot that can not be completed.

Cash has been set asside for any issue with cladding by TW, and not in the current but 2-3 years ago accounts.

Also it didnt effect TW as much as others, as TW tend to build houses, not high rise buildings.

It is not an issue for TW

Two Directors have both bought 15K + extra shares though.

Dont blame them, TW has no reason to have dropped to this low price, its a BUY from me, Should be and will be going back to the 1.60 to £2.... just need to hold on and not panic sell.

Halifax - economist turns out was a mid-rank position covering a administration department.

Bank of England - said 10 years, was in fact 6 years and one yerar of that studying

The comments was "She did little more than order the paperclips"

Lied if remember about the book she published a few yerars ago, it was found most was copied from Wikipedia.....

The so called Govt stuff was and is rubbish - did same talk last time in power.

Forget that, its all about building house, TW need to build and sell and thats what they will continue to do.

Disapointing drop, but thats just to get cheap shares from those that panic, im happy to cotinue to hold, take div which is still (currently same as was), and maybe reinvest the dividend there paying me in a week or two whild cheap.

I have the Barclays App and been fine. now says 1493.5, but been checking all day and been about right.

Colegue at work uses a different APP , and did notice Barclays had a 2% difference. I guess they are non 100% acurate and lag anyway.
