It's astonishing this IMHO , what other company that's only valued by the stock market at £28 Billion market capital

And only a couple of years back the Group compensated over £22 billion in rewards to customer's miss sold insurance cover .

We really need a shake up and a reorganisation change as Shareholders / stakeholders are not get the correct value here.

What we do know is :

Lloyds Banking Group today is 6/7 fold bigger in Balance Sheet size nearly 900 Billion

Compared in 1997 Lloyds TSB Balance Sheet size was around 158 Billion

Remember we are 3 Banks now

I don't have any children, so my outlook/ pension plans will be different to you

There is only so much you tax a sector unfairly

Bank already contribute a good portion of taxes received by the Treasury

Banks will not accept, been the fall guys , I accept Banks are probably doing well thanks to interest rate rises but and will do a ''Google '' and register / move their head office overseas to a tax havens like in Switzerland or the Cayman Islands.

Banks employ the best legal guys in the game

HSBC will be the first of many to move IMHO if the Banking Sector is heavily tax compared to other / sectors companies

I was always believed it's was not a good idea to take a lump sum if you're lucky enough to have a final salary pension, mine is probably similar to yours as we both worked in Banking I believe.

Honest mate the way the world is moving, I going to take anything I am offered, before the Government change the rules again. And try and try and move the age to 60 .lol

I also like the odd smoke and drink so 65 maybe is a bridge to far...lol

I am 55 next year ( February ) and have two pensions a Defined Benefit (Final Salary ) and a Defined Contribution

On my Defined Benefit, I chosen option 1 that's to take a regular monthly pension each month, I never draw down or take any lump sum up front as this its Gold Plated

My Defined Contribution I just checked as I am in control of this one and it's about 17% down from 12 months ago so holding fire and hoping the markets will stabilise a little over the next few months.

In two minds to, take 25% lump sum and then take out Annuity with the balance for life as a pension

I don't need any cash up front and don't really want to invest more money on the stock market TBH

Regular income all I want in life let's be honest no Dividend is Guarantee and I may need to adjust my income shareholdings accordingly so I keep within my Personnel allowance's with the tax man over the next 12 months

If the price is right you should always opt for a regular income

I honestly believe Lloyds Banking Group will one day go back to 80p plus over the next 18/24 months

Interest rates rises makes the Banks is king investments , markets are a little blindsided by the noisy crowd of politics today :-)

When I first bought my house mortgage base rate in the 1990s was 10 to 15%
