Its a battle between MTRO management and shorters now..MTRO management will have more info available on the overall business than shorters do, of course they both will have respective cases. So far this year shorters have won, let's see if this is now the time for management to make some unexpected moves to burn the shorters and provide much needed relief to LTH. I can only say that the numbers being quoted upwards of £6-12 are overly optimistic..Think the share learn to walk before sprint on the positive side, and this can happen only through the right management decisions and positive news flow. Mgmt can ill afford to make another bad move...

I agree. This clearly looks sold..Terms of "NewCo" being used does indicate that the deal is done and they wanted VH to be out before the sale goes through...

Mention of "NewCo" in the RNS means that there are already offers on the table or being considered.

Looks like short squeeze is coming guys. Buckle up..

Given Big V is now out, this clearly paves the way for activist investors to take this up and run...wait for the RNS'es...

In my opinion, Metro has a chance of moving up positively with good news flow in the next few days/months. Change of management, MREL requirements, Activist investor involvement, good results, strengthening governance, bid from some company, short reduction, addition of new shares from the existing large shareholders - all of them will move the share in the upward direction. Let's hope all the LTHs get some much needed respite after continued downward spiral for so long..Shorts have done good in many different ways bringing the share price down inturn putting pressure and driving decisive action from the management - Keep holding and I am sure this will come out strong.

Given this is supposed to be a challenger bank to the bigger banks, i doubt whether this will be taken over by them. However, there must be organised faction with UK big banks, odey and other shorts may be trying to instill fear in PIs and bring this down...

As long as PI's collectively doesn't sell a single share, this is bound to spike up...Keep holding guys, patience will pay. Coterie of supporters, Vernon, Cohen, Toll, Bloomberg are big shots with big connections and their ego would have been hurt with these shorts..They will come back strong on shorts..Any company will have temporary problems and they are bound to recede with time...

The only way this rot will stop is with some heads rolling in management - they lost confidence of all stakeholders, takeover, positive bond news coming and at this stage even director buys wont help. As many mentioned, the capital position is strong and the share price value is 757p based on book value.

I dont think anyone would have been up on both of these shares, given the trend we've had. Let's SIT, HOLD and PRAY as one of the major investors said earlier.

This is the most incompetent board that i have seen, with people who trusted and invested suffering day in day out and not a single word supporting their business and business plans is coming out. Unacceptable by any means...Finally if there are no shareholders company is not there...there is a limit to everyone's patience and METRO Bank has tested this enough and more number of times. Time for directors to take some personal pride and show what they are made of rather than being submissive and along with them drowning the rest who trusted in them..

Unbelievable really...

Vernon, Steve Cohen, Bloomberg, Toll are big shots and they will take this private in my view.
