Looks like a massive over reaction to me..Fundamentals are strong and this will bounce..look at those big buys this morning..

With Santander now buying a major stake in Ebury, not sure if they will also look at buying Metro bank..Let's see how this pans out..

Santander has paid £350m to acquire a 50.1pc stake in UK startup Ebury, in a bid to boost growth. Ebury provides services for small and medium-sized companies including foreign exchange and trade finance. Santander said. Will they did into Metro bank as well.

Hold on guys..This is a tactic to flush out weak holders...

My thinking is that share price tomorrow will determine if there is fire behind the smoke for the takeover and that will determine which way this share will go. Also, any reduction in shorters would be good news, but i doubt whether we will get any news on shorters tomorrow..GLA. Waiting and holding patiently..

This is on the cards as expected and if were to take clues VH stepping down, rumours of Lloyds takeover, big buys of £760K, £200K, 300K on Friday all seem to indicate that this could indeed be true...Share price on Monday will determine if there is more to it. If this is up by 10-15%, we know the game is on...

Not sure why this is dipping so much today..

Of course, i have thought through of only the organic measures and in-organic measures like takeover will also help. Likely contenders would be some bank abroad or new banks wanting to create a footprint in the UK..i struggle to think why a big established bank in the UK would take this over considering that many are closing branches and moving most of the services online...

This stock is a recovery play and my analysis is that the worst may be behind us. Few things should happen for this to rise further in my view.

Change of management - announcement of a new chairman (someone very strong)
Control on operational expenditure and costs - Deposits to loan ratio should be less than 100%
MREL - If this is drastically reduced for challenger banks and smaller banks it will help
Customer growth
No more equity raises - which was confirmed in the Q3 update call - atleast for the short term
Closure of PRA - with minimal or reduced fines
New IIs buying
Shorts closure
Selling of some loan book

Some (or) all of the above actions would have a positive impact on the share price in my view. Listening to the replay of the conference call - looks like all of the above items are under consideration by the management and it was pleasing to note that Craig Donaldson mentioning that they wanted to maximise the return to shareholders by using existing equity and measures in their control than raising fresh equity.
