total joke this whole situation is, Bloomberg has an article 2 days back where a fund manager called to go short on Pound and Pound dives to multi year low. Just because some fund managers who are the real traders shorting the pound, BoE has to do something to support the pound by increasing interest rate? As a result, common man pays high interest for their debts and the fund managers make money shorting the pound. There is now no tax for the amount of money these shorting funds make. Really need to learn shorting. I think I had enough of investing and staying long....

I just looked at Indian market, their index is down by just 1% from all time high I think. Seems very resilient. The reason could be no big shorts on that market and no panic from the domestic investors. Just do not care what happens in US. See what is happening in domestic market. Put a value to the fundamentals and not be in fear.

October results could show EZJ in profit. I think results are on Oct 13th

There is no reason for the price to go so low.
Only shorters pulling this down taking advantage of current wider market situation and politics.
We have seen that many companies survived the pandemic. It is just a matter of time when EZJ bounces back. I will add from now. When this bounces, I don't want to regret that I missed the all time lows.

Title of the Petition : UK Sanctions on Russia hurting UK citizens not Putin

UK sanctions on Russia are not deterring Putin to retreat from the war but the sanctions are hurting almost every UK citizen financially due to high energy prices, high inflation and high interest rates.

UK citizens became the victims of the war as sanctions led to :
- rise in oil prices
- rise in inflation
- rise in interest rates
- rise in mortgage payments

We UK citizens are paying the price as a result of UK Govt sanctions with ordinary citizens unable to afford exorbitant high prices all around. With high interest rates and high mortgage payments, first time buyers dream of buying a house is going to be a dream for a distant future. Those who already have mortgages are worried about increase in their monthly payments.

Money is a measure of time and energy. It is a fact when you increase poverty you reduce opportunity and life expectancy. People up north live 10 years less on average than people down south (i.e. London etc). It is not just a case people with pensions and savings have been wiped out, but everyday households are struggling. Meanwhile so far government is offering only 6 month support to businesses with energy, a glass kiln maker has seen their costs go from 12k to about £200k, pubs from around £15k to 57k. Moreover, the supply chain collapse is going to increase starvation in less developed countries.

Even Bank of England Governor blamed the Russian war for the rise in inflation. Unfortunately, sanctions have not had any impact on Putin. Sanctions have only helped Putin make more money due to high energy prices.

We UK citizens are paying the price as a result of UK Govt sanctions!

How long UK citizens have to endure this pain ?

This petition to UK Govt is to remove the sanctions as they are not working and request UK Govt to find a new approach to counter Putin and request not to penalize UK citizens who are not involved in the war.

PS: If we can add more examples on how sanctions are impacting us then this petition will be more effective IMO.
I see that 100k signatures are required for the petition to be debated in Parliament. Not 10k signatures as I initially thought.

Lawrence, you were alone when you questioned the MPs and that is why they were arrogant calling stupid to invest.

If we do an online petition with 10k signatures then they can see who the stupid are that took stupid decisions which only helped Putin and not UK.

Pls can you add more if anything that I missed in that draft petition that I wrote and we can then submit it today online via petition.org. We should then share the link to get more signatures.

Before the war started, many of us have invested our Pension money in the sanctioned Russian companies like EVRAZ, POLY Metals and Petropavlovsk. Now our pension money has become worthless losing all our years of hard earned money due to UK Govt sanctions. The sanctions are not deterring Putin to retreat from the war but the sanctions have certainly caused lot of monetary loss to UK citizens. Sanctioned Russian companies mentioned above did not promote the war rather it was entirely the Putin's own decision to invade Ukraine. It is clear that the supply of weapons helped Ukraine to fight Putin but not the sanctions as Putin continued his aggression despite the UK sanctions.

Hi BH, I think US SP500 may not go to 3600 as market bounced off 3600 already so the low could be 3700 max. Investors have seen that there is always a bounce so why would one sell now thinking that it could go to 3600 as the dip buyers would immediately snap up the dips. Unless Putin does a nuclear strike, market could calm down and bob around 4000 for sometime. With BoE rate hike, market would be happy even if it is 100pts hike IMO as inflation seem to have peaked with energy price cap news.

With HBR, we need to break that 500p ceiling. The moment we do even 500.50p, traders and investors seeing +500p will get convinced that this will hit new highs. It is already undervalued. The price definitely is being "controlled" no matter what anyone says. Big money can easily control the price. We PIs wonder how it is possible but surely you can swing the prices if you have big money.

Next week if we have a big draw in API figures then that should set the path to 500p+
