Scotman - Having deducted the number of shares in issue as in the RNS from the shares in issue at the time of the last voting rights RNS on 31 July 2018 I can say that no bonds have been converted since 31 July 2018.

Kapersky - I listened to the Westminster Hall debate on Freeports. In responding to that debate the Minister made it clear that he is waiting for the 'full and comprehensive proposal' that Mr Houchen mentions and that the Treasury is waiting for. As a point of information under current law HMT have the power to create freeports as in Rotterdam.

telephoneman - It helps as it allows me to judge whether what is being said is probably true. A trip to Japan at this time is of potentially great importance if true. W2T already has a representative in Japan so if somebody is flying out there there has to be a reason. That reason may impact on the success of PHE.

As a general rule I take note of what is stated by people who I suspect know what they are talking about that is not everybody on these boards.

telephoneman - Is the poster you are referring to somebody who you would listen. By that does his posting history indicate that he is likely to know what he is talking about.

badprophet - With all due respect that is flawed logic. It presumes that the commercial version is up and running. I would point out that it has been independently tested and has been certified as viable.

Causal - There was no money attached to the economic area. If you read the Gzette article in the post below you will see what the 14 million is for. What you have to remember wiht HMG announcements they always give the headline figure and leave you to work out how much people would actually get. As an example when they say e will give x to local authorities you need to divide that number by 152 to find out how much your ocal authority will get.

Casapinos - Having had a quick look at the Budget Red Book page 65 it would seem that your 19.26 post may be close to the truth. In the North East box it contradicts what I said in my 19.36 post and makes it clear that the special economic area will be within the South Tees Development Corporation Area. The same box would also seem to imply that the £14m mentioned in the Gazette last night is in addition to the special economic area. It would be interesting to see more detail of what this special economic area will entail.

Also of interest would be more details about the business led development areas.

PAAA - What the Chancellor said in his speech was 'We are backing a new special economic area in south Tees, and we are providing £20 million to further develop the plan for the critical central section of east-west rail between Oxford and Cambridge.' I am not sure where the Gazette got their information from unless it was in the Red Book. Also perhaps worth noting he also said ' We are launching a competition for proposals for business-led development corporations.' Both quotes come from Commons Hansard 29 October Column 664.

Jingles66 - I must respectfully disagree with you. The SSL site is part of the Mayoral Development Corporation. The Chancellor, I will double check Hansard in the morning, said a new economic area. This would seem to be somewhere other than the old SSL site.

OldRascal - So basicly the MHF would be in the new South Tees Economic Area. I see it looks like the budget may end up being more helpfully than first appeared. It would be interesting to see what benefits this new economic area will get.

As Casapinos reminded me the Chancellor made reference to a new economic area in South Teesside. Despite doing my degree in Middlesborough I must confess to not knowing in relation to the Woodsmith mine where South Teesside is. Assuming that it does exist can anyone tell me where it is in relation to the mine. Also this does not strike me as a vote of confidence in Ben Houchen.

Having listened to the budget I did not hear anything in the budget that would assist SXX. I note that the Personal Allowance is going up to £12500 for lower rate taxpayers and £50,000 for higher rate taxpayers so that might reduce the PAYE bill. More money is going into the infrastructure fund.

VinInTheBin - I would not seek to give advice but I would be interested in your view on PHE is there any similarity with SXX?

sharesport - My point is not whether Hydrogen powered trains are possible but whether they can be made more cheaply than is currently the case. If you have not done so already you should lsiten to the two links from the BBC below. The point is nmade about the cost of building them. So my argument is that if they can be made cheaper then the DfT would be more likely to be willing to move to hydrogen powered train.
