ThisTimeNextYeer In relation to your 09.28 post the most intriguing part of the Northern Echo article in my opinion is this remark 'According to the official website, the first sailings of the Azura are not scheduled to depart until December with the first sailing from Barbados. ' As it is scheduled to arrive until the 2 July that would give it around a four month stay depending on how long it takes to sail to Barbados. It is therefore coming in for significant repairs or an upgrade.

I note that it is a part time 2 days a week appointment and also that it is a non Board position at this time. This begs the question who on the Board would be providing the critical challenge to him.

Si_Derman In relation to your 06.47 post I am not sure about that. As far as I am aware it is the first since I have been a shareholder. Some of the other holders who have held shares for longer may be able to confirm.

I have just checked the Belfast Harbour website and it shows that at 05.20 on the 2 July a ship called the Azura is due to berth in the SRQ. On checking the vesselfinder website I note that a cruise ship with that name is owned by Carnival Cruises.

I am surprised that INFA has not been sanctioned for breach of the AIM rules over the list of significant shareholders. I have just checked the website and the list on the website is three months out of date. A failure to do something so simple as keep the list of shareholders up to date is not a good look.

oldtramp In relation to your 19.18 post I think the way forward is both due to the time lag between lease for the seabed in relation to Offshore Windfarms and the start of construction. The use of different work streams mean there is less of a risk that you would run out of work. In relation to the Saipem contract that is due to finish around April next year. The next larger contract will start sometime after that. Something will need to fill the gap between the two contracts.

It is not wise to rely on only one work stream as was seen with Appledore the previous owners only had it doing defence work when that dried up it closed.

Jabido Thanks for the link in your 18.38 post. BAB better hope that Mr Wallace gets moved in the next reshuffle. At today's hearing he said that he expects vessels to be delivered on time. So if BAB takes on too much work they might find the MoD may not be as understanding as in the past.

Jabido In relation to your 16.26 post BAB are so heavily involved in the Type 26 and the Type 31 I would be surprised if they would have the capacity to take on another large order. Also the Ukranian order would be a good opportunity to show that he does intend to spread the work around.

In other news the Defence Select Committee will be having an Oral Evidence Session in relation to its Inquiry Navy purpose and Procurement Next Tuesday. I am just listening to the Defence Secretary before the Defence Select Committee I will upload a recording of it later today after the hearing finishes. He did state that the contract for the Ukrainian Navy ships was signed yesterday. The ships will be built in the UK. Will be interested to see which shipyard gets the work. James Spellar and Gavin Robinson gave him some rough questioning about shipbuilding. There was also some questioning over the new National Flagship.

projectx In relation to your 10.32 post we are due an update by next week Wednesday. It would need to be a good one rather than just promising more jam tomorrow. We should hear about the Triumph Subsea Services LOI, however, going by what was said at the last roadshow and the recent directors purchases I am not holding my breath for anything positive.

I have just seen this https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-57556938 so the new flagship will be paid for by the MoD. I also note that the preference is for it to be built in the UK but the procurement will be compliant with International Procurement Law so it may not be possible to exclude international companies from bidding. I am still hopeful on INFA winning the tender.

Chitta123 In relation to your 13.24 post I think you are making connections where they do not necessarily exists. I am not aware of any connections between the IslandMagee project and H & W beyond having the same parent group. It must be remembered that the two in the main are engaging different governments. IslandMagee engages the Northern Ireland Executive while most of the shipbuilding as far as it relates to Defence work engages the MoD or the UK Government. There will therefore be separate people making the decisions based on different policies.

Si_Derman In relation to your 09.13 post I think you may be being unfair to INFA. The delays to the IslandMagee project in the last year or so as far as I can see cannot be blamed on the BoD. The delays seem to be caused by the Northern Ireland Executive being unable to make a decision in a reasonable time. In any case any new development will need planning permission so is not likely to be shovel ready for sometime.
