Broomtree ref 12.34 post I would disagree with you about finance resolution being the reason for any delay. As part of the tender process the FIG would have had to satisfy themselves on the financial standing of all the bidders. This would have been done by examing both the last set of auditted accounts and due to their age upto date maangement accounts. It would be rather unusual in my view to award preferred bidder status if you had doubts on he financial standing of the company.

Scaffman ref 18.38 post interesting article I see that the port contract cost appears to have gone down since then unless the difference relates to the other works being done. The reference to the Ukraine War reminds me the sanctions against Russain companies as a result of the war cost HARL at least one contract and possibly more from the same source. I cannot recall the contract value.

Xenor ref 17.23 post are you not agreeing with me when you say 'Maybe there's just more negotiations with this one.' More negotiations implies delay while the additional negotiations are concluded. In any event when awarding preferred bidder status it implies that the Falklands Island Government are content with the terms in the tender so there should not need to be any significant negotiations.

Si_Derman ref 17.37 post I am going to disagree with you about there being no rush. There are probably going to be some items that would have long lead times that cannot be ordered until the contract is signed.

Xenor ref 16.49 post the RNS on the preferred bidder award was on the 5th March. We are now at 22 June which is some three and a half months later and there has been no confirmation that the contract has been signed. In addition in the article in the Stornoway Gazette it says that they are waiting for news on the contract. With the FSS contract the time from preferred bidder status to execution of the manufacture contract was two months. So I would see a three month plus gap in this case for the notification of the signing of the Falklands contract a delay. I doubt that this is one of those cases where JW would not issue a RNS contract to confirm the contract.

Chrisatrdg ref 15.24 post I nte from a post earlier in the week that the Argentine government are causing trouble over the Falkland Island contract. Could this be what is causing the delay in the confirmation of the contract to build the floating docks. I would also wonder if HARL would want undertakings to cover them in case they sign the contract and then the Argentine government causes delays from action at the United Nations.

Not a trading udate from HARL directly but this is from Stornoway Gazette https://www.stornowaygazette.co.uk/business/confidence-over-arnish-future-4675095. There is a photo of one of the barges they are certainly big. The article is too long for a cut and paste job as it would go onto two posts.

LevsInvest ref 16.06 post I take your point I suspect that the issue was around prepayments and whether they should be booked to 2023 or 2024. we should find out in about a week.

LevsInvest ref 12.44 post On your point about the results under performing I am not sure that you are right. If you look at the interim results they were up compared to the previous period. Also gross revenues have in the time I have been invested been backloaded so that H2 revenues are higher than H1. If that trend continued into 2023 then gross revenues might surprise. That said due to the Scilly Ferries venture I would expect to see a loss in the year. I am not sure that it will be as bad as some on here are expecting.

I see that between 10.21 and 10.28 there were two trades amounting to 230,000 shares at the share price. There is no indication that I can see from the intraday chart of whether they were buys or sells or one of each. Any insight from anybody.

In addition to the point that broomtree made about what is not counted in the number of employees on the graphic if you add up the number of apprentice applications for this year they exceed the total of apprentices from previous years. This shows that the HARL apprenticeship scheme is gaining popularity.

With the annual accounts for 2023 due next week I am thinking we might get a clue about them from the share price. If they are as bad as Hebridean9 has been saying then I woud expect to see the share price trend down or plateau. If the market is expecting them to be better than this the share price will go up.

Interesting side note by my counting six judges at all levels ruled in favour of Surrey County Council and three in favou of the applicant. Unfortunately the three were all in the Supreme Court so it is their view that prevails. All that the councils need to do is note the findings on emissions then find a justifiable reason to still grant planning permission. UKOG who were the interested party in this matter are down 11% on the back of this ruling.

LSE03 ref 10.51 post I ote that this deal was reached with Unite who did not threaten strike action or ballot its members as far as I am aware. The GMB were the union that put out the press release about 98% vote for industrial action.
