If you add the apprentices starting this year depending on how many apprentices who applied got on then you do get to around 200.

RichardMcV ref 09.58 post thanks for the link I am not sure if Si_Derman agrees with me but it sounds like the work might be on the minesweeper Atherstone that HARL acquired from the MoD about two years back. I say that because the job requires working on the project which is based in Appledore until October 2024. I would next to impossible to do a competitive tender and build a minesweeper in that timescale. Also it mentions repair which fits as well.

In any event the interim results are due in three months so I can see no issue with publishing the accounts now and then the finance RNS when ready or with the interims.

Xenor ref 09.11 post I do not see any reason for doing that. In previous years HARL has left it until the last day to publish the Annual Report and Accounts. As a practical matter it is too late to incorporate anything about the fiance deal inthe annual report and accounts so I do not see any benefit in holding back the accounts. In fact if there are people like me who assume that there is bad news if the accounts are kept to the last minute it makes more sense to publish the accounts as soon as they are ready.

ForrestGump ref 07.19 post your thread title assumes that there is an Axis of Evil. I am not convinced that you are right on that. I do not see that in general there is a concerted effort to harm HARL. What I see are people making decisions that they see are in thier best interests. As far as your bogeyman Killick is concerned they would advise their clients on the basis of available information. It is here where we have the problem. So far this year there has been only seven RNSs. Also only two of them have been related to new contracts. Against this background it is not unreasonable for a broker to give negative investment advice as from the public information given to the markets it is not clear how HARL would meet its 2024 guidance.

Assuming that the revenues are at the lower range of the figures in the November trading staement this would represent an almost tripling of the revenues compared with FY2022 at £80m. In relation to FY2024 I am going to give a guesstimate of £190m based mainly on revenues from SeaRose.

I am not sure if BAB or BAe will have the capacity to do this.

Just rea this thread on twitter https://x.com/IBallantyn/status/1805029326318174254 it illustrates the urgent need for the Fleet Solid Support ships. If Team Resolute can speed up delivery of the three ships currently contracted then I think the MoD woud breathe a sigh of relief. Whether more RFA ships are needed is another question as is whether the new MoD procurement can speed up the time it takes to procure them.

Findingtheta ref 06.44 post I tend to agree with you as far as the ferry debacle is concened. I hope they do a proper lessons learnt review of the way that the whole thing was handled. As far as renewables is concerned I am not so sure. One of the main enablers for HARL the construction of the deepwater terminal was only completed this year. As a result HARL has been unable to put forward a good business case for why them. Also the speed whichn SOWEC SIM has gone has not assisted. Having said that I am also concerned that after being told for two years that HARL are in negotiations with various parties we do not appear to have concluded any deals.
