A very similar thing happened with the Genedrive® HCV ID Kit. (you have to look at legacy products on GDR website). NHS now does blanket testing for this through labs (though different set of labs to the genomic hubs).

It's partly about cost and practicality of doing large numbers of tests.

They'll never be blanket use in the NHS of the stroke product. The NHS is going for blanket use of batch testing through their genomic hub laboratories. The next NICE update will probably have timescales for scaling up the lab testing and details of which groups to prioritize as they steadily ramp up lab testing capacity.

I convinced GDR will never get anything very meaningful from stroke product, in the UK at least. AIHL not sure. I think they should have gone to US years ago with AIHL rather than trying to get it into the NHS first.

There is no doubt they will approve GDR's test, but what use it gets is very much unclear. What document are you referring to, can you post the link?

SPQ, I think NICE will stick with the draft guidance. GDR's test will be recommended as an alternative option to lab testing, but they say lab testing is the preferred option. Cost is something you've not mentioned. NICE say lab testing only works out at £44 per test (including a device cost of 7p)

They say they plan to just test a smaller group to start with while they scale up lab testing...

NHS England asks this kind of question bighammer. And NICE say, just continue treatment as normal while you wait for the lab results to come back!

Lol virtually everything they say is about supporting the lab test route (batching). They do say that for point of care testing, GDR's test is superior to the cube test. But it's not clear at all for what circumstances point of care testing/or how much it will be used for this at all. As lab testing is definitely their preferred method.

Just my opinion carrots, but I think share price could actually fall on the NICE announcement. I had a look at previous response comments from NICE yesterday and it obvious to me they very much favour lab testing versus point of care for this.

It is a given as it was in the draft guidance. But what is not clear is exactly what these "point of care strategies" will be. As the preferred option tabled by NICE was for this to be led by lab testing (in batches).

What a lot of people on here are missing is that NICE is doing an evaluation of how best to deal with this stroke aspect -CYP2C19 genotype testing. It not purely an evaluation of GDR's solution...

Did you manage to find out anything Nubex?

For some odd reason, my broker only contacted me this week to invite me to use the matched bargain facility. I have fairly large holding though not interested in selling at the moment as I don't think it's the best time to sell yet.

It's 100 percent chance of full approval. But exactly what the means in commercial terms, this is what remains unclear. Hopefully GDR will clarify.

Will be interesting to see if GDR provide a sales forecast anytime soon....
