I suspect that if we got up-to-date staff numbers over the last 3 years you could find overall employee count has actually fallen or stayed the same. Personally think it's a case of people in, people out...

Although probably have slightly increased recruitment of people focused on contact with customers as there are more customers now.

It's all wording. In reality they don't have proper NICE approval for either product as yet. Yes, Trusts in England and Wales CAN buy both tests, but they can't get actual central NHS funding for them given NICE's current stance (although there's a chance that could change within the next 2-3 years for AIHL).

Personally think it could be a good short/mid term investment post next placing, provided FDA is due in 2026.

It could show a different approach between Brighton and Scotland. (though perhaps Scotland will eventually take the same approach once they get it embedded).

On the positive side, I think Scotland decision indicates places like the US will definitely adopt AIHL eventually. (England and Wales is more central policy dependent in my view.) I would say that GDR now has a business after all these years. But exactly when they'll be profitable is anyone's guess.

One thing that's come out of the Scottish announcement is why they targeting just 3,000 babies per year to be tested with AIHL rather than 5,000 as would have been anticipated? Does this mean some of GDR's assumptions were wrong somehow on size of market for AIHL? Or is there some other reason for it?

It's just so long ago since I heard anything about FDA. Perhaps it was NICE that was meant to be agreed in 2027 and FDA in 2026?

If FDA approval comes in 2026 that could make it worth me investing in the likely 0.5p placing that's on the way soon. (GDR never seem to raise enough money than for the next year of operations).

Should be placing in a couple of months at 0.5p IMO, so guess that's why people are getting out or staying out.

I think a great opportunity for people to sell now and buyback in at say perhaps 0.5p in a couple of months from now. Sorry, that's my view.

I still think it's running out in June. End of June at best, probably mid-June. GDR doesn't get all the money for projects upfront.

I took "within 18 months" to mean that it will take up to 18 months to fully get to the 3,000 babies annual run rate (due to training etc). What I've observed before is that when these kinds of projects start they order the number of tests they need for the next year (not for the full length of the project, which appears to be over about 3 years, i.e 3 years at 3,000 annual run rate).

Of course, you have to go with the figures just published by NHS Scotland. It's a 3-year project so that might explain why it's lower than you/GDR had hoped for RNR1 (it might rise to a higher number of babies after the 3 years). Obviously, GDR will also be disappointed that the projects do not include any use of the POC for stroke.

They'll get an annual amount in advance for RNR1 in Scotland. Based on what they say in the write-up that will be roughly £260k per year. The first payment might come in late summer as it starts in October.

It seems they currently they have about £1.5m in the bank now including a tax credit, so GDR bound to mount a fundraise in either April or May as they will run out of cash in mid June.

In fact, it does actually say "lab test" for the stroke part of it in this latest write-up. So looks like zero for POC out of this for stroke.

The write-up pointedly says POC for the baby tests but doesn't say that for the stroke tests. I know they've been piloting lab testing for the stroke tests in Scotland, and already adopted as routine in Tayside since a couple of years ago, so would assume they will go down that route for the stroke testing unless they actually say different.
