FT published article about bitcoin treasury today warning of risks of meltdown etc. This could definitely be an even wilder ride if Bitcoin meaning sells off. It's bound to sell off at some point, especially as it seems quite strongly correlated to the US equity market. On the other hand, it might keep rising for a while if US equities keep going up, lol. The FT article makes the point that bitcoin treasury companies try to buy bitcoin FAST becasue shareholders want to see bitcoin per price rise. But in my view this can actually be a counterintuitive investment strategy over medium term because you not necessarily getting smoothe average as you might get big shorter-term volatility. Suppose this is more of an issue for a newbie like SWC rather than a firm like Strategy in the US.

Smarter move would have been to buy the bitcoin more gradually, so you get a smoother price average. Because obviously, buying so much at one point in time increases the risk.

Bighammer, I think cost is just one thing that NICE takes into account. But NICE/NHS tend to be very good at negotiating deals with big pharma. And sometimes they just say no (with cost featuring big in the analysis) even if it's a treatment that has been adopted in other countries. And their reports/communications aren't the most easiest to read. That's why you tend to get loads of questions from NHS trusts clarifying their recommendations.

Noticed in latest presentation just published that Zelasudil has been moved to the "to be partnered" category from "proprietary". Not sure if that has a wider significance. They should be announcing those clinical results soon. I thin k there's two main strategic options on the table now. Either Redx gets bought out by another firm or it does and IPO in the US. I can't see how the current principal shareholder will be prepared to give all the funds they would need to carry on for a long time in a meaningul way. (I know last year they put in £5m, but Redx will need a lot more than that this time). I think they had funding to last until about the end of next month.

"Cheaper". That would always depend on the batch size being used in lab tests. "Quicker". Would say you have natural advantage with POC in that regard, hence emergency applications. Problem is NHS is all about scale, because it's BIG.

Think about this Gloria: Tesco CAN easily sell Mr Kipling boxes. They just stick them on the shelves and people like Emerald buy em. But Tesco don't sell GDR's kind of products do they.

Unfortunately for GDR, it's actually a lot more difficult to "sell" this kind of product in meaningful quantities than a box of Mr Kipling as there are various authorities/tricky decision makers to navigate

Jimi is right on this point Emerald. GDR previously tried to get a POC Hepatitis test in the NHS and guess what. The NHS thought great idea to encourage testing for this, but we'll be doing it all in labs.

Back in the old days I used to think it would either go to 600p or eventually end up at 1p! A binary outcome as much really depends on only a few decisions (i.e a few payers like NHS) that GDR can't ultimately control.)

That makes sense Carrots. Price of consumables to hospitals (i.e the tests) for this per year per hospital in UK is going to be about £40k to £50k, depending on particular number of patients.
