They won't approve and they won't reject. This has been ongoing since the Slovene court removed the IPPC permit in April 2016. As long as no decision is made a no permit status quo remains in place. Therefore no decision equals a 'no' decision and no permits. It's been like that for years. Any actual decision opens them up for legal action. I hope that puts it in simple terms to be understood as I've said it many times.

dealer55, not off topic as electric vehicles don't need catalytic converters and would therefore reduce the need for Palladium. Showing that EV's are some way off for battery reasons is showing that Palladium will be needed for some time to come. Try and understand the derampers nonsense and you will understand the positives more easily.

Saw a programme the other day where someone in the States had converted a Porsche to electric. Struck me as missing the whole point of a Porsche and a bit of classic car vandalism quite frankly.

Also saw a 'Wheeler Dealer' progamme where a Maserati Biturbo had been converted to electric. The original petrol engine was completely gone so there was a good reason:

New electric cars with much improved battery capacity is the way to go. I just think converting classic cars is just historical vandalism.

It's the batteries that are the issue. Substantially increasing capacity, getting sufficient electrical generation capacity and knowing how to recycle them . That's not happening for some time to come.

Walters, I believe Colin was genuine as there is gas there and ten wells already in place, with two producing. However the Slovene government do not want this to happen. They import gas from Russia, amongst others, and do not want to annoy their Russian erstwhile masters. They have a relatively small population and their gas usage is fairly small. So they have no need to rock any boats politically.

There is also a significant environmental group led by one particular character. The extinction rebellion and Greta Thunberg situation in the World has also made it less likely.

I don't blame Colin. He wasn't going to get anywhere anyway. Maybe he should have realised that earlier and stopped wasting investors time. However he wasn't really interested in investors and just looked for his exit point.

All that's happening in the background Eileen is politicians shuffling their feet and avoiding the permit issue. They've been doing it for years. The coffee has gone cold.

Thanks for a sensible post earache. The removal of nuclear power stations from Germany has resulted in importing gas from Russia, with those security implications, and a lack of secure energy as renewables aren't reliable in producing electricity all the time.

In the same way the statement that petrol and diesel vehicles will be removed completely within a decade or so is also not practical. There will still be a high demand for Palladium and other PGM metals for some time to come.

EV technology is developing but battery technology is up against considerable capacity issues. How man of you do not have mobile phone battery anxiety? Mobile phones have been around for nearly 30 years. The brick came out in 1973:

EVs also have to improve battery capacity before they become widespread as well. Quite an arrogant statement from the reporter actually. And not based on the facts.

Anders, The likelihood would be a sale of MT and retention of WK. That would mean an amount of money to distribute from the sale of MT along with a retention of funds for WK. That distribution would then be as a special dividend only. There is no other way.

We seem to be getting into pedantry. I look at it as the simple result of how we would receive a special dividend and how much is likely to be retained to fund WK. So Ned could only be referring to a special dividend.

How the total amount received from a buyer is dealt with is entirely up to the BoD as Russian tax would have to be adhered to for the company and that is entirely beyond our scope, unless someone on here is an expert on commercial Russian tax law. I therefore see it like the figure at the bottom of your payslip after all taxes and deductions have been made. That could well still be £1.5 billion. Or maybe less or even more.

As a number of factors are unknown to us perhaps any figures should be expressed as a statistical probability. If you take a figure of £1.5 billion only it's easy to calculate the share price equivalent of 55p. If you're looking at all the factors unknown to us you would need a figure plus or minus a figure or a percentage. Either way a figure of 15p to 20p is reasonable as an initial dividend as the remainder covers all those costs plus a large chunk on top to run WK.

Anders, the starting figure posed by Nedhammer was £1.5 billion not $. The percentage mine ownership is already included in that figure. Exchange rate is irrelevant as the starting figure posed by Nedhammer was in £. Bank charges are not known and even they would be included as an all inclusive figure of £1.5 billion posed by Nedhammer. You can't calculate a figure based on all the factors you pose as we don't know them. Your calculation is a bit like getting and answer to ten decimal places when the data is only to two decimal places. It's unknown or irrelevant.

Anders, It's simple arithmetic. Nothing made up. No opinion on my part. £1.5 billion divided by the number of shares in issue equals about 55p. There is no mystic. That would be giving out all the MT sale as special dividend. That won't happen. My post at 10:13 states what I believe the Board may do.

As I said bbtablet, read my post. It's a way to retain the value of the company without giving it all away.

If I were on the BoD I would wish to maintain a high SP and have plenty of cash in the bank. A sale of MT at £1.5 billion would be an approximate equivalent of about 55p per share. In my opinion that could mean an initial special dividend of around 15p to 20p per share with the rest withheld to develop WK and with a further special dividend after some months when the funding for WK is fully known. 15p to 20p would be a fantastic amount as a special dividend and the SP would rerate to account for that and the funds being retained to maintain good financial stability.

The promise of a future second dividend would also maintain share ownership as investors would not wish to sell and lose that second dividend. The company would also maintain confidence in the market by retaining funds to cover unexpected costs and any increased costs for larger equipment at WK because they then can with the retained funds.

That's from the company's perspective. Many shareholders would of course just like it all paid as a special dividend. But that wouldn't put the company in the best position.
