Hi Sandy - I think the holding is unclear.

As at 16th June in the holdings update, VAST advised that Barclays had reduced to zero (and Capstone were now holding direct) but they're now listed as a major shareholder on the VAST website holding 240,000,033.

As of 19th July, Capstone held 240,000,033 through Barclays (ref TR-1)

As of 25th July, they held almost 250m (7.32% of the increased share capital) according to the VAST website.

As of 25th July, according to the VAST website, Barclays held 240,000,033 - exactly the same amount as stated in the 19th July TR-1.

So do Capstone only hold almost 250m or is it 240m plus 33 through Barclays or do they hold both amounts?

'They're having a punt, like everyone else.' - nowadays, I don't think any professional investment company has a punt like the rest of us. Can't imagine that they've got scores of people analysing Vast but they will certainly have spent some time doing that and have concluded that the risk/reward is positive.

'cautious thumbs up' - not sure how you come to the conclusion that it's 'cautious' but that seems to contradict the idea that they're taking a 'punt'.

Capstone now hold a good chunk direct and, possibly, they hold more through Barclays... they could hold anywhere between 7% and 14%. I agree that it's not big money to them but one has to wonder why they're doing what they're doing in the way that they're doing it. They seem to have increased their holding by at least 2% last week - why the delay in telling the market?

They are clearly building a stake - is it for themselves or is it on behalf of someone else?

Reg - it is unclear but the announcement on 16th June took Barclays to zero! There was then the announcement on 19th July which suggested that it was the institutional investor who was adding through Barclays... nothing definitive but there's no need to notify if it is pure nominee accounts for the likes of ourselves.

Just for clarity, Capstone were recorded as holding just over 5% on Tuesday.

Yep - according to the VAST website, Capstone have added but we just don't have the TR-1 yet. That has changed since Tuesday!

19th July - Barclays now hold 7.03%. My reading of that is that this is in addition to the Capstone direct holding.

So, is the Barclays holding of 7.03% also part of Capstone's holding? If so, they could now hold more than 14%!

If they are still buying then this is looking very interesting indeed quite apart from any return of diamonds or BP production figures, etc.

Legalease - Capstone could hold as much as 12%. Unfortunately, holding announcements have been unclear.

I think that AP is going to give one RNS which includes the BP production figures, diamond update, plan for Zim, Taj update and finance update.

Alternatively, he's close to nameplate and wants to combine that news with the production figures.

I reckon that there are some who have discovered that the diamond situation has moved forward and are building a stake. I'm surprised that we've not had another TR-1 but the last one was delayed!

If Capstone are building then that would be very interesting indeed!

Best volume yesterday for almost 3 weeks and we're moving into a big month for the JV. We're expecting official news at some stage in August and folks are starting to take their positions. News could drop anytime now but CLON can be leaky so I'd expect the sp to move ahead of any concrete news.

Couple that with the potential news on the ratification of Tano gaining momentum and this could be a once in a lifetime opportunity (I happen to think that some folk are already being given the nod that there's good news coming along).

AIMHO but this will get very exciting, very soon!

I don't study charts but if you look at the history of the share, there are plenty of spikes... as someone else has said, usually preceded by some leaks/rumours. I reckon that some folks had wind in January about the news dropped in February. I'd expect momentum to build back up to that high of 0.18 ahead of more concrete news. I think some people have got wind of something happening with Tano in the last month or so in addition to what is expected with Next-Chem.

Some of those spikes over the years have been huge reflecting the huge potential and the extremely low valuation. This time round, there seems more certainty that once this flies, it will stay high.

Being tight-lipped about this - could be a sign that news is coming... and about time too!

19th July - Barclays now hold 8.04% (now 7.03% against the increased no. of shares in issue). My reading of that is that this is in addition to the Capstone direct holding. Potentially, Capstone could hold as much as 12.07%.

Add the big buys from last week to that and I'm beginning to think that some or some parties are building a considerable stake in Vast.

For Barclays to issue another TR-1, it looks like Capstone or someone else is holding another big chunk... they would not issue a TR-1 based on nominee accounts for the likes of us.

The exact identity is yet to be disclosed... could be Capstone, could be someone else? Either way that looks very positive. Don't want to set hares running but given the identity is unclear, is someone building a stake anonymously?

Previous TR-1 was based on a lower number of shares in issue.

These %'s are based on the most recent placings too so I don't think that Capstone have sold any.

It does look like they could hold 5.27% direct plus a load with Barclays.

60 mil shares would be just over 2% so wouldn't trigger a TR1 if it is a new holder but it could be Barclays again. It took a few working days to publish the last TR-1 so let's see whether another one appears. Whether it is Barclays or someone else, it is very good news that some folks have got that sort of confidence. Doubly so because the buying is being done ahead of the admission of the 2nd batch of shares tomorrow!

For me, it certainly reinforces that things are moving forward and that there could have been a leak that RBZ have confirmed the process for the release of the diamonds.

I reckon that the BP production figures are being held back to be included in an RNS which includes a positive diamond update together with confirmation of a new funding arrangement.

Pretty certain that we'll get an admission RNS tomorrow but what else will be included?

Drop is due to lack of an RNS on BP production, diamonds. Taj and/or financing.

Not sure why production numbers are being held back - we already know that operational breakeven has been achieved in June 2023 and that name plate capacity will come in Q3 so I'm wondering if the numbers are being held back for a 'bigger' update.

I'm still very bullish here - I think we should get an update on the diamonds imminently. That should allow the financing to be sorted and then it's a clear run to BP gaining more momentum.

Could be either, Sharebel - not many buys so it points to something else!

Like some others, I was expecting the quarterly BP production figures today.

It does seem that there is some good news coming with the ii buying. Perhaps, AP is holding it to give an update on the diamonds, Taj income and funding.
