The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
I think the market shuts at 12.30 today.. So get those BUY orders in now. before its too late :-)
enjoy the time off - when we return its a new tax year and hopefully a brighter future to look forward too..
If we cant have a laugh in Life, then we are all doomed :-) I dont take anything personally on this forum, just try to inform and give my opinion, which I obviously think is correct but probably isn't some of the time :-)
The 4 bullet points were just why I though we were lower today.
I didnt think the market was open tomorrow , its good Friday , hence I presumed the last day was today to bed and ISA.
Yes next week is the big week, eyes on potential opening, eyes across the Channel/EU lots of things to focus on.
One of my main concerns about HMSO is not the re opening of the centres, I'm worried if the Govt passes a law that says : Loss making Shops dont have to pay rent in the future if it help protect the high street until we are back to normal.
However the flip side is, HMSO owns the buildings and can easily convert them into flats/houses which I think will be more lucrative in the future.
To answer your question YES people selling AND the SP should be 0.2p lower as its Ex divi - (0.2p is the cash Divi)
so if the SP is 34.80 thats the same as 35p yesterday.
The main reasons for sells IMHO are :
1. People held for their extra 0.2p Divi or Script if it gets passed at the AGM
2. Last day to sell and re buy in the next tax year if you want to Bed and ISA your holdings (google it if you dont know)
3. Full Lockdown in France is putting pressure and worry will we open up on April 12.
I do laugh at the reason why you would buy a stock simply to collect the Divi of 0.2p when the SP has moved more than that on a daily basis for the past few months. If it was a stable stock in 'normal' times then I get it but this stock has had a more than a 30% move in the last few weeks, and people hang around for 0.2p ?
4. You post so often on this board and clearly show signs of worry about the SP going lower than some law/god/power than be is just testing your patience on Aprils fool day.!
Have an Exit price and stick to it.
The divi is 0.2p -the spread on this share is 0.1/0.2p at most times of the day and yesterday the SP had a range of over 200p.
You need to be on the register at COB today to qualify for your 0.2p or script (if your broker lets you take that).
But yes normally shares will drop after the Ex -divi date, by the amount of the Divi, but I think the price potential of this share coming out of lockdown will have a bigger impact than a 0.2p Divi - IMHO
how much can be attributed too 'short closing ' ?
Agreed, Im selling out the peanuts I bought yesterday, only did 3 trades of £300ish yesterday just to keep the momentum going
Sold some above 6.60 after the auction this morning and will be selling today on any spike
its such a fickle share with a very wide spread - happy just take profit and wait for the next opportunity
I hope people bought yesterday, rather than just sitting on their hands and hoping it will go up :-)
Nibble , Nibble, Nibble, you need to give it a nudge.. I bought in sub 5p this morning and again at 5.18 only small amounts..
but we need herd mentality :-)
This is one of those times the PI need to add a few hundred quids worth of shares to slowly nibble and pop the SP higher. Just sitting here at the mercy of the MM will do nothing. The spread is 20/30p wide which will not encourage smaller trades to be executed automatically, whilst Amigo is up 20% in the last 24hrs..
FYI the 100K trades at 4.95349. and 4.9699. are buys.
Ive just seen my small buy trade go through at the same price and it printed as a sell
HL.co.uk is allowing the HMSO this time.. they told me they do it on a share by share basis
The price will be set by the company, if you read the website and RNS
it tells you all you need to know.
1. The scrip share reference price is calculated by taking the average of the middle market quotations for Shares on the LSE (for shareholders on the UK register) or the JSE (for shareholders on the SA register) for the last five dealing days ending on the Currency Conversion Date less the gross value of the cash Dividend per Share.
However, from my experience if you dont hold the stock directly with the company then I dont think you can have a scrip Divi. Or maybe its just certain stockbrokers dont offer the script divi service, double check with whom ever you hold your shares with.
too true.
Box 10 Wait until USA opens. Made me laugh
So many people posted this yesterday at 14.15/1427. they didnt even know the US had changed their clocks and had been open for almost an hour...
2 separate companies- The relationship is they do the same thing in the same sector. They lend people money at a high APR. like Coca Cola and Pepsi , Adidas and Puma, Santander and Barclays.
Im sure there is more to it that that.
NSF needs to do a big fund raise to move forward - Probably issue more shares at 5p would be my guess.
Amigo needs cash, however JPM has bought 6% of Amigo shares over the last few weeks Also some directors bought into Amigo last week. Thus supporting the SP.
Slightly off topic last Oct JPM stated they wanted to invest heavily into the lending space in the UK,. They have bought into Amigo to gain access to the 'high risk' personal loan lending space and a non listed P2P company called lendinvest.co.uk, which specialises in Buy to let funding.
Maybe/hopefully we will get some sort of clarification this week and found out who been buying NSF
You need to understand that JPM a huge US investment bank has bought over 6% of Amigo in the last few weeks. Also last week the directors bought into Amigo again. That has not been stated on NSF (yet :-) )
NSF need to do a big raise to finance themselves according to the RNS
Thats why I think there is a bigger gap in the SP
Are you serious ??? Its the best RNS we could possibly hope for..If Diggle buys back in this will be at 35p on the open.. I!!
MM probably called up Vulupes/Diggle and said do you wanna fill the order off the books ?
Hopefully they said NO and we get a nice rise..
Yes, unfortunately Vulups /Mr Dingle have knocked the life out of this share ATM. He is clearly selling more as the price action of 200K keeps being printed. Surprised we havent had another RNS yet to confirm this.
There seems to be a silent buyer which is giving some support, but the MM's will look for the weak PI S.L's who bought above 20p. I believe the SP will turn and go above 30p only when Vulups stops selling
