RE: Sterling’s strength20 Feb 2021 07:27
Whether the SP is the true value or not is an irrelevance to me- the value of my investment is all I care about, so the value is the SP multiplied by the number of my shares. Sure, if the SP remains flat and the divis good(which they have been historically) then this is another way of gaining value from the investment. However, as has happened historically in other businesses, dividends are not guaranteed and can reduce or cease, it’s then the SP only for your value, which if lower than you purchase, not good especially if you want to swap for another divi paying stock.
I am not loyal to this to company as I do not work for them. Equally, they are not loyal to me as they do not consult or contact me in advance of any major decisions that impact my investment eg divi cessation, info on mine issues, results, new expansions etc- so I run blind like the vast majority of us shareholders do.
I invest on fundamentals which is why I am long here.
I would be very happy with a T/O, the company is ripe for it at current SP with the management team and strategy in place (possibilities done to death on this board :-)), and I would expect a bid would be a large, therefore fast increase on my investment in short term which is preferable to an unknown.
I would expect the bid to be vastly greater than the “joke” bid from Endeavour in recent past. I’ve been invested in this stock for a number of years, relatively new to this board.
