Regarding vaccines for covid, Pfizer expects to bag $24 billion in sales. I believe first half of 2021.
AZ has reported revenue increased by 18% to £11.1 billion with £838m from the covid vaccines the firm jointly developed with Oxford University of which £640m came in the second quarter.
'Unlike rivals, Astras deal with OU stipulates that it must sell the jabs at cost during the pandemic. Controversies around Astras covid jab have prompted it to weigh up options for the future of its vaccine venture.' DM financial yesterday.
Yesterday Ruud Dobber head of Astras biopharmaceutical unit, said the firm was 'exploring different options for the business'.
My cards on the table.
They invest in a promising non vaccine covid treatment and investing in a pill that comes from a third party and is deemed a promising venture with promising ongoing testing results which will be fast paced via Agile or private investment. HNWIs?
Which apparently with the infrastructure costs of vaccination a pill option is far far cheaper on the NHS and all other public health organisations to be able to offer pill treatment than vaccines.
Bidding war?
Another ramble from myself.
