He's not a danger to me..!

I own all three. ODX since the first lockdown, AVCT since the summer and ABDX since it dipped last month. It is not necessary to pick just one. The posters on these boards obsessed with simple tribal "loyalty" should stick to football, religion, boy bands and other forms of entertainment for the hard-of-thinking...

All three are still only in the early stages of value creation. All of them have tremendous opportunities ahead. I expect to still be holding all three at the end of 2021. But Avacta may be the one that's still in my portfolio in 5-10 years time.

Of course this isn't true. Investing in shares is not a zero-sum game. When we own the equity of a company we own its capacity to generate real value through the efforts of its employees. That is why equity investing - even on AIM! - is different to gambling. One persons gains are not only another persons losses. We are fractional owners not just punters in the ring. It's a big difference.

According to reports here, the usual holders were all filling their boots late last week as the SP approached 40p.

I'm pleased that they - like all of us - have an opportunity this morning to average down. I hope they are taking it...

I sat and watched the crew at work here last week. It was very entertaining.

Yes, I am an ODX holder. And ABDX. And AVCT. All perfectly visible in my post history going back (for ODX and AVCT, because ABDX hasn’t been around so long) over many months.

Shock revelation: You don’t have to pick just one company to invest in. Maybe you should just stick to football, religion, boy-bands..? Whatever form of tribalism turns you on. Investing though is different.

The naivety on display here yesterday (“just one more sleep” etc) was just desperate.

18 people (probably more now) have clicked “recommend” on a post that suggests a £500m contract will lead - at a P/E ratio of 3x - to a market cap of £1.5bn.

That’s 18 people who have nowhere near enough basic knowledge to invest in AIM shares.

I wouldn’t worry about broker forecasts! Largely useless, especially in AIM/small-caps where they are typically sales puff pieces dressed up as research...

When was the last weekend when one or more of the diagnostics companies weren’t supposed to be going through the roof on Monday morning..? I think a sense of proportion and realism is valuable.

There are dozens - if not scores - of Antigen LFDx available globally. Different technologies/prices/processes etc.

Finally - given questions you have asked here - you should read the Edison Mining Sector report I linked in the long thread a couple of days ago...

I spoke earlier today with someone who is managing the testing programme in a large school. They are using Innova tests at present for staff etc, but are now working to scale up testing capacity. Interestingly, they are now using a team composed of school nurses and lab technicians - eg people with medical and testing experience / knowledge. He said that in their first iteration they were using “general” volunteers from among the staff, but the consistency of results with the revised approach to staffing is much better. I suspect that school / workplace testing will continue to be a need, alongside the home testing we are all hoping will become a reality. He also said that the Innova tests in practice give results after 5 minutes even though the spec is for 30 minutes. They haven’t had one instance yet where the 5 minute result wasn’t confirmed after 30 minutes.
