RE: BEGO - Berenburg (and Gossler)10 Mar 2020 10:03
The reason BEGO and others can move the price around and relentlessly reduce it is because they can due to a lack of serious and sustained buying pressure. No matter how low the price goes, there are no major buyers coming in who force the MMs to move the price up substantially - and keep it there - through of sheer weight of buying. I'm not talking about PIs buying on a daily basis. This is going on and I suspect there may be even one or two who have net added 1m+ shares over the past 6 months. But in the end it makes no real difference to the MMs - and, in fact, they are quite happy because they've got any such buys seriously underwater by now.
The big issue is what we haven't seen - and haven't since GS bought in - and this is a major buyer who is looking to accumulate 20m+ shares (and ideally nearer 50m). Perhaps they are out there, just sitting waiting to start buying, but there's no real evidence to date. This does trouble me because no matter now much we on here say the company is making $x'000000s per week, no matter how much we on here say look at the wonderful potential of BE, etc, there is still no major buyer who sees this and puts their money to work here. Not one. Anywhere. No major SA investor (who would easily be able to buy on UK market if they wanted to), no Californian entrepreneur, no II, no FTSE/DOW/NASDAQ major wanting a stake.
Hopefully the situation changes soon because unless or until it does then the share price is going to go nowhere. It may go back up to 25p when the CV problems dissipate, but it may also go sub-10p because BEGO and others will look to move it around at will, find sellers, and will keep searching for the point at which they can finally attract a serious buyer or two (tens of millions).
I strongly believe there are interested parties out there and we will attract a major buyer. The energy storage market will grow, the V business will grow and BMN/BE are brilliantly positioned to take advantage of these and eventually someone with deep pockets will see this and be determined to buy a substantial stake, but in the meantime we'll just drift, churn and stay range-bound with a max of 25p. Me, I'll just continue to hold and hold (all spent up so can't invest further....a common problem for quite a few LTH PIs here), get frustrated in the short-term, but remain confident long-term.
