Tarrifs are going to hurt RR I'm afraid. Nothing has been set as yet but let's just say he decides 10%...a Trent engine at £25million is now £2.5 million more expensive to Boeing so the domestic or foreign end user is more likely to choose GE or P&W which is what the tarrif is designed to achieve. So the unknown quantity is would he..he's said 'absolutely' about tarrifs on the EU...will he spare UK plc? The flip side is we tariff US imports so Harley Davidson's and Jack Daniels more expensive.
