Hi Confluence, your maths are out...£1 billion pounds at £7.50 per share is 133,333,333 shares. Let's say there are 250 accounting days in the year then that's 133,333,333/250 = 533,333 per day so effectively RR's buy back campaign will last for 1 year

There were only a billion shares in issue at £14 now there 8.5 billion

Until we see progress it's good money after bad. Is it Roland's fault that the workovers to date haven't been sucsuccessful ? no, of course it isn't. Is it Roland's fault for the news blackout and wooly, vague comms around future plans? yes, it most definitely is..using wording like 'near future on C70' or 'forward plan on C63' and 'following workover plan q1/q2' is just so lacking in detail it makes you think he doesn't give a fk. Now to the end of Q2 is 4 months away so what's happening in March if Q1 is a contender for progress? I have dry powder but I simply can't invest more and won't until I see a change in either behaviour or results.

Agree markRS..the next 3 to 4 years will see F130 for B52 into production,early deliveries on FLRAA, updates on Tempest (surely a given now), UK SMR orders, more widebody orders, Ultrafan offered/ordered, increased defence spending esp MTU, payments from AUKUS I expect, a bigger installed base to service and hopefully a more efficient RR

He could argue that he's successfully farmed out 50% of the company in return for a $20m workover and drilling program with future production bonuses thrown in on a 206 bcf of P50 reserves with possibly a trillion cf which is why we're all here. Either the drilling works and it will multi bag, the drilling is delayed meaning another placing, the new drilling is completed and fails presumably meaning the end for the company. The best possible position would be successfully worked over c63 and c70 then a flurry of updates on the others and confirmation drilling starts on the new wells

Not sure I agree GW...pick a good solid company and invest regularly then you're going to be ok eg RR or BAE Systems...pick one with little or no cashflow then you're asking for trouble...my foray into AIM (just like yours) requires either the drug to work, the gold mine to start processing or be bought or in this case the oil wells to be drilled (successfully) which in SYN'S case hasn't happened (yet)...until then the only way they can finance themselves is by dilution of current shareholders. The problem we have here is that Roland is paying himself a higher base salary than RR'S CEO despite achieving anything

I think we're all in the same boat Gordon...had we had a modicum of success with the two workovers then we'd be in a different place I think. I have dry powder but I'm not buying anymore until we get some good news...it might be 0.0003 is the lowest it ever goes. AIM is a funny old beast...had I done what I planned to do in the first place and mechanically pound cost averaged across not just SYN but the other 4 or 5 AIM stocks I wouldn't have been so badly burnt. But I didn't and bought lots all in one go to later watch them slowly dilute away. I'm lucky in that my RR shares have covered my AIM ventures but it's a really really really risky place to be. That said, SYN should come good if Selan are playing a straight game and no ulterior motivations

Not quite the case PeterPharma..by your logic it's binary if I win the lottery on Friday...eitherher I win or I don't. There's probably more chance of something going wrong than everything going right with something as complicated as this and so many variables, not least the health of the patient prior to treatment...I hope that the trail is a success of course and every day without an update is kind of a good thing from my total layman's viewpoint.

Svend, MTU Friedrichshafen are owned by RR and they supply engines for most of Europes tanks and heavy armoured vehicles inc the UK boxer vehicle...more tanks = more engine sales. Regarding engines for aircraft, submarines and ships, you have to think that revenue from any new spending announcements (say more Typhoons or more Type 26's or more Astutes for example) would take many years to translate into revenue unless they could secure a downpayment. I would guess a lot of RR'S non submarine defence revenue comes from the US..Osprey, C130, T45 hawk but absolutely massive programs are on the horizon in FLRAA and B52. What I'm trying to say is an increase in defence spending would equal more vehicles equals more engines sales and that is more short term than say a ship engine that would take 5 years to go from concept to final design proposal.

My story line hasn't changed..think we're going to be good in the medium to long term...again, just remind everyone that you first showed up here in October trying to pump the now suspended Wishbone..you suggested dumping SYN to buy Wishbone if I remember correctly so let me ask you what you've got to say?

1% is the same as Safran..I want them to pay of debt and reinvest into new products not divvy it out to shareholders.

Hi Kaltersee, I don't think they're being dishonest but they're certainly guilty of paying themselves handsomely for non performance and news blackouts...this is what galls me.
