See today's results - very good again - goodness knows why more folk not invested here
Not really likely to go down before June 14th - the ex div date!! Unless the rise last week accounts for that. Somehow I think it will rise further till Thursday - then go back down to 2-20s. Unless, there is optimism in the future direction, and it may stay in the 2.40s....maybe more
Yes - I am of the older generation, Kern and I do remember the England of yesteryear. A country with no proper public health system and resultant high infancy death rates and poor life expectancy. A country that had to get labour from the Commonwealth because after WW2 the country had a chronic labour shortage problem. A country that encouraged labour to move here to fill the cotton and wool factories, our transport and health systems. A country - that quite rightly gave those that came British passports. Who was a minister in the Home Office when this occured - speaking in favour in Parliament - one Enoch Powell !! And then again I remember, the NO Blacks signs outside rented accommodations. Oh yes, and then the extreme racism of the 1960s encouraged by Powell. Remember he predicted that by now we would have more Black children than white. The statistical skills of a 10 year could have known better. But it was not about statisical accuracy - it was a bout whipping up racist sentiments. I also know how large amounts of this anti-Black, anti immigrant feeling was channelled into the Remain campaign. Thank God, the young folk of this country largely saw that campaign for what it was - a thinly veiled remembrance of a country that never existed tinged with shed loads of racist cant
Not just my opinion - I have bought over the years - but also opinion of Interactive Investor. Good results, sales going up particularly to China and India - and domestically. A well established family firm and serial award winner for innovation. What not to like? http://www.iii.co.uk/articles/502576/churchill-china%3A-one-buy-and-hold-investors
Maybe even lower than 8.90
No opinions, then, no the nature of the future financing and when it might come about !
I can see there is a lot of upset here about HL; my sympathies with all those affected. Back though to the issue of finance. When do we think there might be an announcement about this? Any insights, speculations?
Oh yes - we ALL hoping for that
Realdeal2 - what will the content of that RNS be, please?
Yeah, footieladBaz but JP Morgan's rating is slightly down on its previous one!! And Deutsche have it at 800!!! As I keep re-iterating this is a really tough share to predict, and I am not sure the brokers - given their performances on other shares - are any better at second guessing KAZ than a sole investor who watches the major, and rather odd patterns, that appear to affect its performance
Thanks again, uncertain. Like your phrase "the latest collective irrational exuberance, or despair." I think you are almost certainly on the money. How can demand fall at present juncture; and if trade war prevented importing through very high tariffs then companies would look elsewhere. But, of course, that KAZ's demand is virtually on its doorstep
Here's another question!! I recognise that copper is a global commodity and that its price will be affected by any type of trade war between US & China. Also, China apparently - according to Wall St Journal - accounts for 45% of the global demand. In what way exactly will the trade war affect the ability of KAZ to get its product into a country - China - it borders? I am not sure who KAZ's biggest customers are - but surely they are not towards the West!
Seems to be going away from 8, uncertain - despite the LME copper stocks. Like I have posted before - odd stock to wrap your head around this one
That's very helpful, Bottled.....thanks very much
And now down a bit !!
Now up a bit - like I say a strange one this
Copper up on strong China manufacturing figures - but so far KAZ down a spot!! Here's a Reuters article on rising copper prices https://www.reuters.com/article/global-metals/metals-london-copper-hits-over-1-wk-high-on-strong-china-manufacturing-idUSL4N1RG1G5?feedType=RSS&feedName=companyNews&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+reuters%2FcompanyNews+%28News+%2F+US+%2F+Company+News%29 Odd share this - copper prices decline, KAZ up - the reverse and KAZ down. Any thoughts?
Well, silence on the board - & yet the most potentially significant event is beginning to happen - trade war between China and US. Already price of copper falling - but what are medium to long term effects? There is a lot of pessimism in Financial papers and websites. BUT will the DEMAND for copper fall? Share price hovering around 840 as I write....been slightly lower. So markets are confused. Is this a buying opp....or is there a long way further down to go. What do folk think?

Share_minator......Yes VED yield greater....u right about that. But it appeared to me that you were encouraging folk to buy VED on the basis that if they bought on Tues 20th they would get a decent divi. It appeared to me to be ramping - which is why I posted.
