Hi BernardtLonger No you are wrong. No one knows the consequences of leaving the EU.NO one, Indeed the very people in charge of trying to chart our course poiut disagree hugely about how to leave and what it means in the short, medium & long term. Significant reports - even from organisations in favour of leaving - indicate the UK economy will take a massive hit if there is a Hard Brexit...and a hit if there is a less harsh one. What we DO know is what will happen if we stay in. Moreover, we can improve our negotiating position significantly in terms of the issues that bother the Brexiteers - immigration etc - in the present negotiations to leave. Then conclude - as any sane person would - that leaving is committing economic self harm on a major scale......so stay. The result a better deal with the EU - and continued peace and economic growth
two thirds of Senate as presently constituted will NOT impeach Trump. The House maybe - not the Senate. This is why mid terms SO VITAL for Trump......if Republicans lose control of Senate - then there may be a successful impeachment. Let's hope so
Hi Roydon.......I am not sure where the article you quote is from. And as a long term investor, I do find it reassuring. BUT Investors Chronicle only 3 weeks ago had KAZ as one of its Tips of the Week moving it to a buy. No mention of the purchase of the Russian project - which was hinted at in documents published last Feb - and no mention of restoring the dividend. All was rosy marching on towards £10 and beyond....yet share price less than half that 3 weeks later!!!
Seems extraordinary that what Fresian below describes as a good deal - and it appears that way to me - should produce such a strong negative reaction. I know markets are highly irrational e.g. AZN losing over £3 on a failed drug trial - only to make it up in 4 days!! Endless repeat examples - will this bounce back as quickly? Thoughts? Anyone?

Hi Everyone In this week's IC there is a piece entitled Mexican Standoff about BCN and the raising of finance. I only have a paper copy so cannot - without faffing around - post it. If anyone is an online subscriber perhaps they could. I would be interested in what others here think of the article
I invested in SYM recently as I thought it was a way of investing in the future in a progressive way. My investment has lost 20%plus in a few weeks. My question is - Are supermarkets, etc looking for a COMPLETE alternative to plastic so that even plastic that biodegrades quickly is not seen in a good light
