In 2008 I worked with a man who said when the markets crashed buy buy buy. He bought on credit cards, mortgaged his house and used his overdraft to the max. I thought he was mad!! But he started to make good returns. Sadly one night as p'd as newt he suffered a huge stroke and died. His wife ended up seriously well orf!! I am not like him. This has been a bad week for me but I have made a few day trades which have eased the pain and i will ride this out. I have no need to realise my investments as I live the simple life. Enquest will come good at some time and all my other investments too. Madame Spin will be rich... She may even be able to afford a toy boy!!

Poor old day. FTSE 100 well down .. Nasdaq and Dow also falling but Brent futures still 83.5.$. Spin is not so well off tonight. Beginning to wonder if and when we reach the bottom. No good worrying so time to relax and watch the telly..

I fear this is just the start of a very dismal winter. Britain needs successful start up companies but this was not to be. Sadly I feel our politicians are taking their eye of the ball. Not in this case because this was a operational cock up. Still Jaywick has one new resident methinks. In investing losses are easy to rack up but profits are much harder. I took my loss here ages ago but still feel for those who hung on in belief..

Best stop thinking about this until something indicates the computers being switched off. Either somebody knows something small Pi's do not a seller just wants out..

Whilst I agree with most of what you state I feel the malaise goes much deeper. Sadly I am beginning to think the way we are governed is no longer fit for purpose. I remember a red indian saying 'One twig is easily broken but a bundle is almost impossible to break' Currently we have no direction as a country and all our so called leaders are mired in argument and the 'Titanic' comes to mind. Across the ditch is no better with Italy and Spain tottering away. In America we have Trump and in Russia a man who is happy to play all the weaknesses.
If you produced a film people would say it was contrived and unreal but sadly it is real life. Unless there is a reality check we may get the depression we narrowly avoided in 2008. I continue to hold these because I feel like a rabbit in the headlights.

Think this looks cheap now and am tempted to add. Might be a bit greedy though.

It seems the Scottish government have passed a new law which no longer allows Shetland to shown in a box because it upsets people who say they are not seen as remote... Now if you want a map of Shetland you will have to buy a separate map or perhaps an Admiralty Chart of lots of sea.

Brent Futures hit 86.50 dollars tonight. Although a high oil price is good for my Enquest shares it could have a very negative effect on some of my other holdings . Ie I have a big holding in a bus company. Worse is if it gets too expensive then alternatives start to become attractive. Two of my friends have taken delivery of electric cars this week. My dirty diesel re sale price is plummeting. Probably though the biggest pill is if people spend more on fuel they spend less on other consumer items. The town already looks like a boarded wasteland. I got out of day trading sometime ago but in the last three weeks I have been using the money for RI and have forgotten how exciting it is but dangerous. GL all
