the market giveth and the market taketh away. i'm not aware of any big news specific to jlg, but that doesn't mean there isn't some out there that other people do know! volume is significantly higher than usual already this morning. maybe some folk want to avoid taking the divi itself, for tax reasons etc? or maybe there are orders being worked currently. (but in all likelihood, us mushrooms will never know.) i suppose if market as a whole is developing a bit more appetite for risk, rightly or wrongly, lol, that might lead to some asset rotation out of boring stocks like JLG.

back on par again. premium a little frothy, but not way way so. utw holding (about 1%) seemed to do ok today.

mind you, IG now shows, ftse down 0.8%, falling.

perhaps there's also something sustaining RDSB to do with the dividend commitment? the CEO at RDSB seems to have given very strong indications that he will be doing pretty much whatever it takes to sustain the divi, which hasn't been cut for 70+ years. ... so market is perhaps factoring in an expectation of a raft of disposals and 'efficiency' savings from RDSB to support the divi -- which is likely to include some pretty brutal axe-swinging re overlapping BG / RDSB sections. BP doesn't have the same level of clear commitment to divi maintenance (which might perhaps be more sensible in the long run?) but shorter-term might make one suspect that they will be less ruthless in drive for cuts/sales.

rylidan, this seems to be the second bulletin board on which you are referring to me as a 'sentiment trader' who shorts shares like this. you have made similar posts over on DAN bb. neither is true. as you will know from previous posts elsewhere, plus my posting history overall. i am primarily a value investor taking a medium /long term view, and although i have no objection whatsoever to other people taking short positions, i do not do so myself. (more broadly, on the kind of micro-cap shares you seem to be posting on, such as DAN, IMTK, TEA, it would be very hard for anyone to take short positions of any significant size, give their serious lack of liquidity & very low market caps. IG, which I use, does not offer shorts on such shares at all, and i believe that some of the smaller spreadbet firms which sometimes offer short facility on small AIM shares only tend to do so for very limited position sizes.) i'm not sure what your motivation is for posting about me in this way, and without evidence. i have reported those posts to lse admin, and will do so again if you persist.

i'm not trading IMTK, (& have never had any kind of position here.) as i have posted before, i have no particular view on IMTK fundamentals. i don't know enough about underlying biz at IMTK to offer an informed view. i haven't bothered to try to research it, as i'm not thinking of putting money in. my interest is part of watching the kinds of games RT plays across different companies. i agree, it is hard to work out or to second guess what RT is up to. he's very opaque & unpredictable, & from past form, he says one thing but then does another. .... which is precisely why i wouldn't touch with a bargepole anything that is associated with him. some lucky people might make money off RT, others will lose, but it's guesswork except for insiders. hence, i watch him, but i don't trade off him ... me, i prefer investing for value.

v. short term, i think it's almost entirely to do with whatever games RT and his cronies choose to play on this share. but guessing what that is, with no inside knowledge, is just a casino bet, red or black. if they buy more / launch a take-over, then it goes up, if they don't, then it very probably goes back down. simples. longer-term, depends on actual business.

"Nevertheless, can it find further PPP projects into which to invest? " .. this question from the tempus article is i think a very important one to try to watch over time, the business model relies them finding new projects, over and over.

lol, np, it's a nice, boring share, truthfully there's not much to say most of the time, and it's not about to sky-rocket (or crash) very suddenly. slow and steady hopefully wins the race. what i have found interesting is the recent pattern of chunky BoD buys, but of course BoDs can get it wrong like anyone. atb.

perhaps a focus on free cash flow in this company, once accounts are published, will cut through some of the debate re loads & profitability. as most willbe well aware, profits relatively easily manipulated, cash much less so. although obviously, RT's games may trump such matters.

posts from 21st march: 1) rylidan Interest on loans will be shown on the P&L. This is a liability from the previous year, 2014/15. This will be shown on the company accounts as a liability. It has no impact on profitability (apart from interest paid) for this FY. They may be delaying paying the loan because the extra cash being generated is being used to expand the business. We will find out when the accounts are published. The profit declared will not be impacted by repaying (or not repaying) a loan. 2) the_shareminator lets be clear, the company repaid the final $60k of a $110k short term loan. There is still a $250,000 loan plus 10% interest outstanding from January which was "scheduled to be repaid over the coming months"... this was back in November. Since then the terms of the loan have been extended. Presumably because the company cannot afford to repay it right now. ... it's an interesting question. is the $250m loan not being repaid because plenty of cash being generated is being used to expand the business, as you speculate, or is it simply because the company is running on empty fumes as the_ahareminator suggests, with v little cash to play with? time will tell, as always.

(attention to facts rather than rampy speculation is sensible. otherwise, for example, people like rekoplee get carried away & mis-read RNS announcing sale of half million shares by hargreaves as an addition.)

No worry about fundamentals for you." ? what on earth are you on about? i am primarily an investor rather than trader in equities, interested in business case, market trends and fundamentals, rather than a trader. i do dabble infrequently in *small* size on a few shares for short-term bets, which are usually larger cap liquid shares on main market, but that's very a much minority interest for me. i've been pretty consistent over the years saying that on lse. if doctor-investor posts extravagant price predictions on the bb, not unreasonable that others might ask if they actually have any rationale or substance to back up their prediction. which is what speakssense did, with no reply.
