getting on with the announcement about the defenestration of RC might help the sentiment a little bit. i know he does have his fans amongst some of the LTHs on this bb, but probably more broadly amongst most pis he is seen i think as a disastrous liability.

two apparently pretty positive items of news released in quick succession, but pretty much zero sp movement. presumably partly as low PoO is hurting sector sentiment, but still, thought should've seen more movement. placing concerns?

... i appreciate it's a fairly obvious point, but nonetheless i'll mention it, one should keep in mind that when pfizer were offering £55 a share, that was at very different exchange rate, so those ££ 55 offered were worth plenty more than they would be today. the value of astra's pipeline and intellectual property has an international value, not just something linked to UK markets & ££ pricing. in other words, exchange rate means astra is potentially dangling rather cheaply atm.

" gosh, that sounds like a pretty terrible stance to take for effective investing. no wonder you seem so eeyore-ish. ... if you think something is going further down, don't forget it, ditch it. mrmagic, i wasn't asking you for your guesses about someone else's investment logic. i was asking earache. 25,000,000 shares looks to be about £7500 at 0.03p. i appreciate it might depend just how rich someone is, but i know for myself that if i had £7500 in a share that i thought was very likely to do badly, then i would sell that share and put the money to work for me elsewhere. not the kind of small change i would just leave & ignore.

not meaning to be funny, but when did beaufort securities last say anything other than 'speculative buy' about northcote? -- they've been pretty solidly wrong with their NCT price targets for a long, long time ... which is not to say that they might not turn out to be right one day (stopped clock and all that, lol) but cross-referencing the beaufort NCT recommendations versus graph of actual NCT sp hardly supports their credibility.

"For the record I still hold 25 million and refuse to sell any at this sp." why not sell your shares? you seem to be clear that you think this is a terrible company with terrible management whose interests are very poorly aligned with those of shareholders, and it looks like you agree with mrmagic that there may well be yet another placement coming. with all that in mind, it does not seem very rationale to maintain your 25m share in NCT; surely you can see other companies out there on the stock market which have better prospects than you seem to see here in NCT? would be interested to hear the reasons you are still holding.

no confirmation re more saudi typhoons. & price had already lifted well anticipating.

plus side, there are also a fair few investors/traders sniffing around who would like to get in on a drop, but are trying to guesstimate what the right buy in level would be, lol. all is fair in love and war, as they say.

well, it was more than just a divi announcement, wasn't it? massive profit drop, and acknowlegement that prolonged weak oil prices continue to present considerable challenge; ... all factors in to market's confidence level whether that high current dividend can actually be maintained, or will get cut.

pretty likely to see sub 200 again as a back-test at some point soon-ish, imv, but the trend and resilience seems overall very encouraging.

.. depends what happens tomorrow/next week/month etc? no-one goes broke taking profits.
