some family related matters have had to claim
my attention rather heavily ( - and still do...), so
financial issues are fairly low down my agenda,
with portfolio etc placed into a low maintenance
mode, and no trading activity. but i've continued to
glance in on what has been happening here ('tho
imo most of the game was over once nex said no).

and imo it seems like it has been playing out
pretty much as the sceptics thought it would.

[btw, i am mildly curious whether whet did actually
make any investment into narc. - they announced
that they had reached terms on an agreement to
invest, but i don't think that there was any statement
confirming that any money was actually handed over.]

ben, the information about who has been holding
whetstone shares, and who has been selling them,
doesn't come from britdaq, it comes from the filings
made by the company itself at companies house.

specifically, the confirmation statement of august '18
refers to a 'bulk list' which you can obtain by phoning
companies house (as per final page of the confirmation
statement) to ask for a cd-rom. that list clearly shows
that two particular individuals were sustained & heavy
sellers of whetstone from the word go, long before
most ordinary pis would even have received shares.

that's factual and verifiable information, publicly available
though the official source of companies house. but for some
reason, lse admin repeatedly remove any posts here which
point out that those two individuals have been big sellers.

presumably another confirmation statement is due in august '19.
if that also contains similarly detailed information about who has
been trading the shares, it will show whether either of those two
individuals was again a seller when the NARC ramp was underway.

i imagine there's been a small hit on sentiment from carillion's crash, in terms of nerves around companies aiming to profit from public/private infrastructure deals etc. -- but jlg very different positioned in terms of high margins it looks for on deals, & of course v. different geographical risk. ... but why so cheap otherwise? - no idea. suggestions welcome.

there is a trading announcement due out at the start of Feb, & the share had had a v. good rise over the last month, so it's possible that some of this is simply folks taking profits to derisk ahead of the trading announcement. i'm not aware of any particularly significant adverse news that's been around. (always possible, of course, that something bad has leaked to the market about that february news! - but would tend to see rather larger volumes if something like that had happened?) jmo.
