more likely, imv, market makers simply don't want to be carrying any position at all, long or short, & liquidity has dried up. hence, the spread is wide so that they will still make sure they profit if anyone does insist on dealing. mms don't want to stop anyone dealing. they make more money when more people are dealing, less when it's quiet. so when it is very quiet, spreads widen (a) to fatten up each trade's profit margin, & (b) because positions harder to lay off.

to me, the curious thing about thursday's big sells was the timing. i'm working on an assumption for the moment that those shares came from someone who took on big chunks in the 1.5p placings - so this is someone who seems to have sat 'patiently' on a stake they paid �111,500 for, but has now chosen to exit, crystallizing a thumping big loss. ... but they've done that at a point when (a) there appear to have been some positive steps towards an eventual resolution of the legal disputes, & (b) when the outlook for PoO is looking considerably better than it has for a long time. so why sell now? (e.g. is it just someone going through a messy divorce who needs to fund a settlement, or do they know something?)

not trying to make anything worse for anyone, jonbchelmo, just watching. same as on myn. i appreciate that you are frustrated, but it is not me that is responsible for mxo's performance.

hi jeffry, dr johny hon is a cambridge-trained psychiatrist who now operates as an HNWI and fixer and deal-maker, who bought into mxo in H1 2016 (cf. RNS of Mon, 16th May 2016) when share price a lot lower (? maybe 0.5/0.6 ish? can't quite recall) shortly before several other chinese HNWIs in a row paid above that to take significant chunks of mxo shares. i think dr hon introduced them to mxo, but then used the sp rise from that excitement to exit at a nice personal profit. (and fair play to him too, a good bit of deal-making!)

" yes. difficult situation for any big holder wanting to exit; market won't soak up too much at once, until stefan releases more substantive data (as per your excellent post on mxo the other day).

dr hon *did* win. he got in early, helped ramp it, introduced some new investors, & he used them to make his exit. would be interesting to know (but we never will) if he also got 'introduction' commissions.
