key percentages to watch for all the vaccines will be -

% who get hospitalised from developing covid19
% who can still spread virus to others after vaccination
% who end up with serious chronic health problems

(not that fussed about percentage variation between vaccines re people
who develop covid with some symptoms, but don’t get hospitalised / die /
bad long term probs ...folk can just man-up about milder symptoms etc.)

uncle_doug, you will definitely be told which particular vaccine you will be
offered, as that is necessary part of the informed consent process. but you
are very unlikely to be offered a choice about which to have, at any one
particular vaccination site ... you will be offered what they have. however,
as in my area (east anglia), you might get some choice about which vaccination
site to get your jab, and that may mean that you could exercise some choice
about which vaccine to get, as different sites may have different stock available.
(eg addenbrookes have been giving pfizer, while papworths using AZN vaccine.)

that being said, jolly, it does seem like there were some pis
who genuinely did have amounts between £250K - £400K
in poor old cloudtag? (not a good move, as it turns out...)

so if there are pis out there crazy enough to do that, then
not impossible some may have put £650K in GSK. but hard to
see what’s so exciting about GSK to warrant that. it’s hardly
a sexy, goldrush fear & greed, make or break kind of share...

lots of posts on this board trying to shoot down CS for
its negative comment on GSK, rather than weigh up the
issues CS raises. think there are a fair few pis out there who
have become a bit complacent about security of GSK divi &
are rattled by the suggestion that it might not be maintained.

& yet, still no-one has been able to identify any public company where osa
was on the BoD which actually made good returns for ordinary shareholders?

i don’t doubt he’s made good money for himself over the years ( - for
instance, the renumeration that he has extracted to date from ADME
absolutely dwarfs the amount he spent on buying a token amount of
shares - ) but the list of companies associated with him as a director
on the companies house website have pretty dismal track records...

it’s not like trafigura have actually committed or promised any funds,
is it? - they have got nothing tied up at all, as all the deal says is that
trafigura are prepared to take a look at any deals that ADME want to
show them ... but with no obligation whatsoever for trafigura to lend
the money if the deal or the terms don’t appeal to them. one or two
rampy folks out there have tried to misrepresent the deal as a kind of
pre-approved loan, but it is nothing of the sort. so assume the MOU
will be extended, as it costs nothing to do so, & means very little too.

hi thomo1968, you can’t use losses on shares within a SIPP or ISA to offset
gains made in other accounts that are outside a SIPP or ISA tax wrapper.

... so if you lost a bunch of money on your NMC shares within a SIPP
&/or ISA, that loss does not reduce your CGT liability on other shares
(BP / RDSB etc) that you hold in an ordinary share dealing account.
