Trying to have a sensible or nuanced discussion about global politics and putin’s war on an AIM chatboard is a bit like trying to deconstruct the circumstances and implications of the albigensian heresy with a bunch of drunken randoms down the spoons bar on a saturday night … not likely to make much progress.

Hi gecko, apols, but i’m not that interested in using the EUA chatboard to discuss geopolitics more generally. briefly, i think we are seeing a gradual decay of US hegemony in the 21st century (whether we like it or not!) and that brings with it escalating risks of serious conflicts, both direct and proxy, all over the place. i’m not convinced that either a harris or trump presidency will make a huge difference to that process.

gecko, i don’t really have much a personal view whether the yanks should elect harris or trump. i am not american, and i think it’s up to them to make their own mistakes either way.

i do have a *small* personal interest in harris winning, simply because (as mr_w correctly recalled) i’ve placed a bet on harris to win …. that’s not meant as an endorsement of her policies, lol, just a little punt about what i think the US electorate will do.

(but for the avoidance of doubt, i do indeed utterly despise putin!)

i think they are simply looking for the next story that they can spin to persuade suckers like leno to buy in while they are selling. they would be looking to sell on spikes in the run-up to the election, rather than after.

there have been many such ramp stories for EUA stock over last few years, trump presidency is just a current version.

by the time the US election result is known, whether harris or biden, the rampers will already be long gone, leaving others to hold the baby.

If i were to hire a surveyor to look over a property i was thinking of buying, it would be a bit daft of me to then disregard a critical report they made warning of structural problems, dry rot, etc etc …

…the surveyor (hopefully!) would simply be offering their own honest opinion about current value and what might happen next, rather than be ‘yearning ill’ on me or the property.

(i could of course just green-box the surveyor and shop around until i find one who is very upbeat about the property, but that would kinda miss the point?)

there’s a very small number of IDs on this board (probably reflecting an even smaller number of multi-ID posters) who have persistently set out to abuse and bully others in vile ways, and frankly i would shed no tears if they lose plenty on EUA, but most of us have no real knowledge of the real persons behind these different IDs, and would have no reason whatsoever to wish any harm on others here.

Evening b1ll. re your 15:39, one of the more regrettable but persistent tropes on this board from the rampers is the way in which some of them falsely equate sceptical views about how EUA is *likely* to perform badly, with a *wish* that EUA will perform badly. .. very different things, but some rampers deliberately try to elide those issues, while others are probably genuinely confused as they are too emotionally attached to their EUA investment & experience criticism of EUA as criticism of themselves.
