RE: Trump Says Iran War is Pretty Much Over .......10 Mar 2026 11:40
Pretty fatuous to talk about putin’s war as though it’s just a game with a winner and a loser at the end of it. it’s not some child’s game where the pieces go back in the box afterwards. ukraine has lost massively from this war, but so too has russia, whatever happens next.
the excuse that putin needed to launch a massive ground war against a neighbouring country in order to stop that country joining nato is particularly risible.
even begging the question of whether or when ukraine would ever be allowed to join nato, why would that pose any threat whatsoever to Russia?
the real problem putin faced, and still does, is that the more russian people get to see neighbours free from putin’s grip prospering … look at poland!… both economically and also culturally / democratically, the more they might reject putin’s dictatorship and kleptocracy.
? why do the Ukrainians keep fighting? - because they don’t want to be putin’s slaves.
