Under Newcrest Telfer was a old and deteriorating concern nearing the end of its life with massive remedial costs. SD stated “he would only pay a dollar for it”. Then along came Hav, GGP and a ROLR term. SD saw this as an opportunity and by recruiting the best team money can buy turned Telfer into a cash cow with loads more to come

Hi All 4550/oz now looks to be well and truly in the rear view mirror and probably never to be seen again. 5500/oz is the next port of call and will be here sooner than most think. Physical gold is a safe store of wealth whilst miners are a risky leveraged bet against that gold.

There are a completely different asset.

Hi Dubbs. As far as I am concerned the only blip coming at the POG is a sell off to cover margin calls in a stock market crash. That sell off would be short and the rebound swift.

Ihave mentioned many times here that all drivers are for a much much higher POG. Those pointers are far too many to mention them all here but more debt to service debt is the elaphant in the room.

If I see anything coming that changes my mind I will certainly let folk know

If considering purchasing gold Britts please check premiums being charged. Some dealers are taking the pee. 4pc or under is a fair markup, any more is unacceptable, look around and barter. ATB Speedy

Hi All. Delivery times on gold Britts are anything from 2week upto 5 weeks depending on dealer. Most have an allocation of 200/ day so it does outtake many punters to soak up supply. Watch out for increasing premiums. It is possible to find dealers with premiums below 4pc but it depends on quantity. Good hunting. ATB Speedy

Hi Autumn. Purchasing silver Britts and holding in a bonded store is VAT free and CGT free. Then you have the option to sell for cash. If you want to take delivery the vat will be payable at the delivery price. A word of warning. The premiums are very high and are best held as a long term investment. Silver bars are VAT free if held in a bonded store but you will have to pay CGT on any profits.

Hi All. Our main asset is gold. So what drives the POG is important. Geopolitics are a big driver in the POG and what is going on now is of major importance to all holders.

For those that only want a blinkered approach to investing here, may I suggest just skip the posts that do not meet you educational needs.
