The heads of British Airways and its parent group IAG are cashing in after a strong financial year.
IAG CEO Luis Gallego earned £4.6 million in 2024, up from £3.1 million the year before, including a £1 million base salary, £1.5 million annual bonus, and £2.1 million in long-term incentives. The payout sparked backlash from shareholders who accused the board of rewarding executives too generously.
BA’s chief Sean Doyle also saw his pay climb. His 2023 base salary was £670,000, while reports suggest his total package reached about £1.5 million. Doyle received a £2.1 million bonus in 2025 linked to a long-term share sale.
With IAG profits surging post-pandemic, some argue the airline’s leaders are soaring higher than their passengers.
