You just dont seem to understand Next as a company

6 billion revenue

1 billion PROFIT

1000 worldwide store network

Pays dividends

Growing revenue annually

Growing profit annually

Growing customers annually

Exponential share price growth

Various other capital returns

Great brand loyalty

Industry renowned store backed online click and collect service

Major shareholders - blackrock, fidelity, vanguard.

Most importantly - next doesn't have a chairman that uses the company as a cash pot to buy family companies and pay the families property portfolio off while driving the company to the brink of failure and also into a huge debt pile while also taking huge bonuses.

Face it these morons have destroyed every single brand and label apart from debenhams and now people are praying that debenhams can save the company....

Look at nastygal for instance - they have watched revenue on that "brand" fall from 140 million to about 15 million, with profit of 14 million turning to a loss of over 12 million and they don't know how to stop it... Nastygal is even still paying the mortgage on a Kamani property! The reality is nastygal could be run from a bedroom.

You see why next and the boohoo group can't be compared??

50 percent of next sales come from their website

Approximately 40 percent of those online sales are market place

So that translates to less than 25 percent of total group sales coming from market place for next.

You are comparing that with the Debenhams market place which is solely market place (and a place where they dump failed labels)

Next is an absolute power house making more profit than this junk has in revenue - comparing the 2 companies is just stupid.

Wonder if you will get them dividends by the end of 2026....

Hexam is correct - next as a market place is far less than the 50 percent of their online sales.

Selling online and having an online marketplace are 2 very different things

For a start next is a stand alone business.

Debs has been propped up by a load of other failing brands - which are no doubt failing at a faster rate as a result of propping up debs, hence the 41 percent decline in h1 this year across youth brands.

Just what is plt's identify these days?

I can see it now - Umar and Mahmud rock up to try and off load the junk plt brand and get asked the question "what is plt's stand out identity?"

The both look at each other before proudly saying "oh well its a cross between superdry and abercrombie and a little bit ouhhh"....

H1 this year saw the biggest declines to date for gmv, revenue, gross profit and now that has all reversed in a few months? Delusional at best.

Has it not occurred to anyone that they are not streamlining the business but rather shrinking everything to suit a shrinking business?

Getting rid of the distribution centres is nothing to do with the market place taking over, its solely being done because boohoo, plt and all the other cr&p are dying at a fantastic rate... Exactly the same reason the usdc was a complete failure.

This year is a disaster but some people just can't see it.

By investing in this company it's safe to say big daddy has been rogered more times than a coppers radio.

Nobody seems bothered that plt and boohoo have dissappeared off that list... They only make up over 2 thirds of the company.

How come not one of the experts here told us to expect h1 youth brand revenue to be down 41 percent??

Surely the experts here could have read the stats and converted them for us mortals?

To top it off some people are continuing to just look and debenhams market place while ignoring everything else such as youth brands which are down on last years h1 by a massive 41 percent.

Now considering debenhams market place makes up less than 25 percent of the total revenue stream it starts to look very stupid to ignore everything else.

Had management been able to stop the rot on youth brands then debenhams market place would make up less than 15 percent of group revenue. Its only taking a bigger role due to everything else dying.

For a long while I had the opposite view to both bon and spidey, in the early days of this companies problems there was a lot of opportunities for the business to be swiftly turned around, they had loads of cash and no debt, loads of revenue and loads of customers, but they completely knackered it with a multitude of terrible decisions - all while taking bonuses and telling shareholder the business would return to growth imminently!

The business stinks, management stink and hiding plt stinks!

Nothing more than a corner shop this company.
