There are a few good mid-size pharma's in the Cambridge area who operate in this sphere who may be showing an interest, some of whom may be keen of a drug-device combination therapy which would suit tranilast.

Understand where you're coming from Jiving, but the could sign an option with a frontrunner in early 2025 which would be subject to Orphan designation being achieved. If you have a number of parties interested then there is pressure for someone to sign up an option.

I think its clear from the placing prospectus why they are only now just applying for Orphan status given that they have had to get more work done by external consultants. It tells us that if they applied back in Feb, they probably wouldn't have enough info to get it through.

They needed external consultants to do some more work for the submission, they then needed to have a pre-submission meeting to run through the items before application. They only got the placing proceeds at the beginning of November which to me would make it too tight to achieve the 25th November submission date.

They can still apply in December and achieve the March dates they are targeting.

It takes 3 months once you've applied. Doubt they've applied yet.

So we finally got to see the near term plan today, a couple of interesting items coming to the fore now at least.

Must say I didn't see the deferred shares route as a way of dealing with the nominal value. Not entirely sure how deferred shares work but hey, if it keeps the number of shares in issue down then its fine by me.

One very interesting point picked up on is that they appear to be planning for Phase 2b studies....

It takes some of the risk away, but as they are repurposing for a different indication they still have to go through the clinical safety trials. But yes the known safety profile may encourage a suitor to find a quicker route through to later phase trials.

Its still not without risk and as we can easily see, the big risk is small pharma with no income are at the mercy of having to raise money in the market.

From my side its not so much about being defensive as about being frustrated.

At each opportunity FX you take the tack that something illegal is going on as your first point. Rather than accepting the fact that fewer than 1 in 20 drugs ever reach the end of development let alone any form of commercialisation.

The fact is that NFX is a tiny company, has always been a small development pharma, so has always been a very high risk investment.

You either go into it knowing you could lose all your money or you stay away, its no good constantly trying to blame others or smoke and mirrors for your decision not to sell at any point over the last two years.

You were the one implying that they are trading on that knowledge, as usual casting near aspersion without rational thinking.

Do you not think there’s even the tiniest possibility that those who have taken part in the subscription has seen signs of something positive to make them shell out over £100k in cash to the company?
