Dustymop, the company has no control over the placing price.
The company has an idea of the amount they want to raise so they go to a broker, that broker then goes to their clients to see who would be interested in putting their money forward.
In order to make it attractive, the broker will need to put forward a price that can attract enough of their clients to put up their cash.
Increasingly clients want a cheaper price to derisk for themselves.
As mentioned before, the NFX raise wasn’t just a placing, they have some individuals putting money in, so the question is… what do they know that regular punters don’t?
