The fact that the chairman and the board were surprised by the resignation means the above doesn’t hold true.

Twist, very unlikely. The company has stated it’s all about data first then they may look to license, but more likely after glp.

If a deal was on the cards and a successful conclusion meant you wouldn’t have a job, why would you resign?

NXP002 patent being granted in the US and elsewhere.
NXP002 pre-clinical (2 studies) well underway, may even get early feedback.
NXP004 pre-clinical well underway.

I'm glad the Chair went and gave the interview this morning, its good that both him and the other directors are acting in such a way to try and alleviate understandable concern.

Also good to hear him emphasise the strengths of Julian Gilbert as NFX does have strength on the board to move forward.

Chab, we will probably only see Oxilio's financial clout at the same time they sign with the licensing as their funding will be linked.

FX, fair point, they don't rule out getting someone early, but at least they aren't stressing that it needs to be immediate.
