Cobus Loots, CEO of Pan African Resources, on delivering sector-leading returns for shareholders. Watch the video here.
Well if thats the case our line in the sand is 27th ish of July. So 12 days.
The whole permiting process has been a farce, the public consultation wasn't necessary, the emissions are well within limits, they have already suggested stack testing will be required. there is no need for it to have taken this long. I expect the time taken post public consultation will be about a month to give the impression to the ill informed environmental lobby, that lumberton has taken this decision seriously, and to let tempers cool. I see no reason to deny the permit. It must be allowed with stack testing on comissioning and monitoring. Wish they would get on with it. AEG has already spoken to legal council and I expect a no would be challenged very quickly.
Any day now and without warning that rns will drop, probably mid day due to the time difference in the USA, about the permit and then its full steam ahead. Meanwhile the second shift and timber sales build and our licencees are fast tracking planning for a number of coalswitch plants in Canada. Its frustrating but thats all part of the aeg rollercoaster. The highs are going to be amazing. Not long now.
Someone bought over 12,000 pounds worth in 1 hit today. Confidence I like to see :-)
Grsshaw, we will miss these quiet conversations once the world realises what's happening here and the trolls start to invade. A slow under the radar increase will be fine for me, wont take much to move like you say as lots of sticky hands holding tightly to shares.
I would expect the permit to be issued by the end if next week. I just watched the Lumberton information video and there is clearly no reason to delay the issuance of the permit. https://youtu.be/qsbRgcPhfDQ I would like to hear news of construction asap from the company. With the 2nd shift at the lumber yard and coal switch factory getting built, the next couple of months will be very exciting!!!
From the feedback I'm getting it sounds like a protest group turned up. Emissions can only be monitored after its built . cutting down trees etc is happening already and would be with or without AEG, although the timber yard makes it more economical for the locals. Not really aegs problem. I don't see any reason to deny the permit. In the application AEG are well within tolerances for emissions which is what the permit is for.
Scotlouie I don't think its due to start until 11. Give us some key points or impression if you stay on to listen please.
Ezhik. Thanks for sharing, I should think once coal switch hits the market which can replace completly or add in to coal without modification to the power plant, then costly conversions will be a thing of the past, and powerhouse energy has a much better use for waste plastic.
I do agree however that there timescales have been phiss poor here. Although with rmde and AEG close to realising an operational coal switch plant, and with the active desire to get rid of fossil fuels in the world fueling demand for alternatives, I expect AEG and rmde to do very well in 2021.
I would say a definite yes to the meeting on the 22nd. Public comment ends on the 26th so permit out early the following week perhaps?
#AEG Wow just read this update. 1 coalswitch plant in Canada is at FID stage with apparent strong backing from locals, a further 5 plants! are at advanced planning stages, with more planned in other areas. Mr Spinks is creating a monster!

I was considering how defensive my stocks are in my is a. With AEG, he timber side is considered essential so they carry on in covid round 2 (god forbid). In a recession the rail ties would still be purchased as they are essential infrastructure. The plant should take minimal cost to build as we have it already, just needs putting together. Coal switch would carry-on being used, as its coal replacement and populations use energy, and the share price here is close to all time lows. Add the fact we are expecting near term game changing news, AEG stays in my isa.
Grshaw, hopefull the competition will respond by buying a licence and making coal switch themselves.
This story will evolve rapidly once we get the licence which should be a tick box exercise. Rmde and AEG quickly getting coal switch into production and AEG building up the timber sales too. On top of that licence agreements for those wanting a bite of the profits coal switches superior wood pellet will achieve. Next year we will be a very different company... Hopefully.
Its hard to keep track of rmde, I looked at their linked in account and website, but I mostly get info from Richard spinks Twitter account, so not the greatest source. However, they will new keen to progress their substantial investment in the coal switch license. I expect newwill drop in the near future that they have started buolding their coal switch factory. See who builds it first AEG or RMDE.
I think coal switch production and the some decent good news PR will see us move up nicely. Power house energy has flown these last few months. Coal switch may note be the final solution to the power issue a the world will face, but its alledgedly a lot better than the alternatives on the market today and its from waste biomass. I think this a is a screaming buy at this level.
I liked the new video and he seems genuine, clearly doesn't think 1 pound is on any horizon, and I can't see major news flow until after covid, but I expect we will rise eventually. Biggest concerns are finance and time here. No revenue until end of 2021 so can't see a reason for averaging down just yet, but sure sentiment will tick this up and down for the traders. Much better opportunities out there at the moment. Saying that if we could get 44p in the next few weeks I would be grateful.
Well hopefully this keeps our head above water until Lumberton gov pulls their finger out.
Going by the video either the recent RNs, I can see of no legal reason why they wouldn't issue the licence/ permit. Assuming they get no major objections, I would expect the permit out within a week. Even if they do get an objection, I can't see a reason not to issue the licence, just might take a bit longer to do due diligence.
I don't see why this needs a public meeting in the first place, either it meets air regulations or it doesn't.
