It's been suggested "One proposal under discussion is for the UK to follow the lead of countries such as Denmark, where the government has promised to cover 75% of salaries at private companies for three months, if they promise not to let staff go."
That might just cover permanent staff but the whole crux of the UK workforce is the ability to quickly hire & fire the zero hour,agency,freelance and part time staff, why would any employer pay 25% to keep them on the books especially after this dip is over you would be able to pick them up for a lower wage.
