Surely a low ball offer and starting point will be 54p Anything below will not get cgp, blackrock, singapore bank and any substantial holder who has been in for more than 2 years and that's before we get onto NM 20% held in different companies. Imo
Iceberg that's an interesting point regarding the government. But surely they have someone in mind for the job and are not interested in the way it gets there as long as its producing when they require it?
In hope your right regarding Cgp accepting the offer. As I see it they are not as backed into a corner as some may believe but accepting will be the quickest route to value and cash sale which is there main goal. If they decide on waiting for Solg to be sold first they will undoubtedly be pushed to come up with funds for the Capex and who ever buys solg will calm their bluff. It will then be down to the major shareholders of Cgp to dig deep which is going to come with major dilution and take quite a while. Like you say all very interesting next few months
Scoutt to be fair its not even comparable. If newcrest offered us direct shares in Ncm with a high possibility they will get bought out by Bhp in 12 months and we had no real way to move forward we may well be grabbing the offer. As it stands solg have pretty much signed off on 18 months of funding with a route to possible future funds to build a mine. I understand Cgp frustration but as far as I see we are trying to the best by both parties and its certainly not solg fault for lookimg after their shareholders interests. So I have to disagree with your view im afraid and if I was a Cgp shareholder I'd by wanting my team to get around the table with Solg imo
