Yes, there will always be people wanting to go abroad for their holiday, no question about that.
We are in testing times though and with all the hoops the government are making passengers jump through, not to mention the quarantine laws that can change in the blink of an eye, and the costs involved, it is no wonder more and more people are staying at home.
I drove up to Berwick a couple of weeks ago on the A1. The amount of motorhomes, camper vans and caravans on the road was ridiculous. Getting a hotel in todays climate is very hard, especially in the tourist areas or the coast and nigh on impossible during the school holidays.
Is the “staycation” the future? I don’t know . One thing is for sure, aviation companies are going to have to box clever to survive.
