Yes, Recommended. Although its a regurgitation of previous thoughts by Analysts. Not sure about Liberty. They have previously said - not at this price - but who knows? They've sold stuff to Vodafone recently so now are less geared.

Ok if that's the way you think, we'll agree to disagree. I'm also not a recent holder - I'm not one of those to be swayed by short term sentiment like the World Cup (which is only a short term boost and has long since been discounted in the price), or even Broker upgrades or downgrades which are not worth the loo paper they're written on. (except as a guide only if consensus is pointing strongly in one way). ITV may fall, but only in line with a market pullback.
As for the FAANGS. Hugely overvalued.

TR.. Soc Gen upgrade just a coincidence. No way it would have moved the price more than 1% max. Probably the Yanks have cottoned on to viewing figures. Anyway, you seem to think you know what you're doing.

Out of curiosity... how much are you in for short? And what makes you think ITV is a short at these levels? Someone posted earlier that less than 2% shares are shorted here (likely a bit of hedging). If correct, what makes you think you are right and the Hedge funds are not? Not being argumentative, genuinely interested in your thoughts.

Guys, why the shocked silence? that's good news for England. I bet against when they won 6 -1, against when they beat Colombia, so I'll continue betting against till they win the World Cup - looks like a good talisman for England!

I don't know about an offer on Monday, but something's in the air. Someone reported ADRs up 5% overnight? This afternoon could tell us plenty... a 5% move is unusual.

radio... didn't he sell at 177 and look to buy back sub-170? Like you, I don't believe a word of it. Never mind. Would be really interesting to see an (honest) breakdown of trades over the past year. Or at least an (honest) comparison between Jan 1 and end June of the portfolio. Would be most revealing. To him at least.

TommyRotten, further to my 'warning' to ITV shorties... we have had a sudden uptick today of over 4%. Imagine if it was suddenly 40%.... sleep well.

Wednesday... I agree on the Horseracing. It only gets better and better. Now if only they could get rid of that bespectacled ex-jockey fellow who takes himself too seriously... coverage would be near perfect. For some strange reason, ITV Racing viewing figures still well short of when BBC used to do it. But now better than Channel 4's period.

TR.. I'm not a great a fan of shorties in any event. But a word of advice. ITV in particular is not one you want to short. Its top of the list every Jan of likely takeover targets. I'm not saying this will or will not happen any time soon... but I wouldn't sleep too well with a short on this one. Its your money, but don't say you weren't warned.
