Fascinating Bloomberg article Nige. Plenty to comment on, but all looking good for ITV.

The product placement bit reminds me of my daughter - a 'celebrity' apparently - who gets freebie invites to the best restaurants and Clubs (hoping she'll post it on her Instagram with her zillion 'followers') and gets sent clothes and stuff hoping for the same. (her 'celeb' friends even get paid a few Grand to wear the stuff and stick it on Instagram, although she doesn't do this herself). Adverts these days come in many shapes and sizes.

Corbyn is different. He has stuck by his commie ideas (or 'principles') since the 1970s. His constant bubbling of anger and irritation are caused by watching the British people reject his ideas time and again over 40 years. He is an unreformable State control Communist.

The FD is stepping down, which normally would indicate financial problems. I doubt very much if this the case in this instance. The new CEO is a hard b*&*^* and to be frank I was surprised it didn't happen earlier. The sp pull back this afternoon is a knee-jerk action. No need to panic.

Well, H-hi... I wouldn't try to dissuade you. But the difficulty is with timing. The Equity markets (in particular the US) have had their nay-sayers for 7 years now.
My approach is slightly different. Mentally assuming the value of my Portfolio is not X, but X-25%. And keep collecting the dividends. CPI doesn't pay any, but I don't see that as a long term hold. All the others pay between 4 - 8%.

But that's my point. If you think FB is a better Investment proposition, Invest there. And stay out of ITV. I'm surprised FB is only on 20x P/e. Other US tech stocks are on P/e s in the hundreds.

Anyway, 'nuff said.

TR, you're a nice feller. I would hate to see you 'burned' by a sudden upsurge in the price. Why don't you, if you don't believe in this Company, just stay neutral without a short. Seriously. What you are doing is pure gambling, its not investing. There are thousands of Companies in the market place where you can research and buy into on a long term basis.
I hope you don't mind my re-issuing a second caution.

As someone made a valid point - Advertisers may not have factored in a 3rd place playoff featuring England. Probably a small extra stream of revenue.

Sold a third of my holding @ 173p today (bought in a sizeable amount, £126k, @c,130p - ish - a few months back. Have invested elsewhere in a new one, not previously held.
