Good morning wellwell I've been informed that we are buddies.

I see the AM is sitting over Lancaster, we'll be good to go once they have dug all that dead fish out of the Turret.

Quite possible and I hope while they are poking they don't find the Turret full of dead fish because that could have been the problem with the Hook-up last time, they might have found a dead whale in it
By the way, the course alteration was an observation made by myself it was not from a nice person who spoke perfect English.

The AM has just altered the course NW to Lancaster.

The reading I have from 9 am to 9 pm are as follows, Total Sea State 1.9 m Wind & Sea 0.4 m
Height Of Swell 1.8 m It does show a short window for sun.

According to the weather chart west of Shetland that I am looking at, there is a weather window from 9 am to 9 pm tomorrow. Providing there are no setbacks she can make it on time.

Looks as though the SP has gone into an auction.

Where in my post did I mention Dr R. Trice? if there is any criticism in my post its directed at New World and Bluewater. DRT is the only reason I'm still holding my shares. As for New World and Bluewater, we have had delays and repairs every step of the voyage from Dubai to Cromarty so there are some questions to answer.

Rotterdam can accommodate tankers up to 500.000 ton and has 100.000-ton vessels navigating the waterways 24/7so if the port authority gives you such information he must have been taking the Mickael.

I totally agree with you regarding gale force winds would be no problem for the AM, a little discomfort maybe, so why would she want to a dawdle.
if she is now such a seaworthy vessel why were some quoting she was waiting on a weather window in Rotterdam and why with all the up to date navigation technology was she unable to sail in the dark.

The wind and sea are from the North so the Orkneys would give very little shelter but I accept where you are coming from.

The AM has just left the shelter of a safe anchorage but the skipper has decided to go out into the Atlantic in gale force wind just to have a dawdle. He would have to be hissed out of his mind, she has barely got enough way on the vessel to keep her head into the wind and sea
I hope you are right the tugs at Lancaster because we might need them.

Now showing stopped in the main shipping lane hope we haven't hired a pig in a poke.

Totally agree, I wouldn't expect AM to ever disconnect because of weather conditions, it would have to be a dire emergency life-threatening.
Incidentally, the weather window I mentioned 22- 23- 24 Jan is no longer suitable for hook-up.

She is anchored in Cromarty Scotland awaiting a weather window for hook-up to buoy at Lancaster.

22nd 23rd 24th JAN looks to be an excellent weather window for hook up, let's pray it holds.

There doesn't appear to be another weather window until 20- 21 st Jan according to the chart I look at.

I took the opportunity to watch the Big Ships video (Link kindly provided by Missdosh) a couple of times. During the video, it is mentioned on several occasions that you only get one chance to hook up the Buoy to the Turret so everything has to be spot on with no room for error because of any mistakes could disastrous for the project.

I observed the AM with what looked to be everything in her favour weatherwise, positioned herself over Lancaster co-ordinates.

For the rest of the day, I watched the operation to see if I could recognise the completion of the hook-up. What I did notice to my surprise was that on several occasions during the day the vessel was manoeuvring using her engines which give me the impression they were having some difficulties housing the buoy.

I hope I'm completely wrong and they were carrying out other work in preparation for the Hook-up.

I watch the same video of the buoy connection and although I have an understanding of how it's done I'm not a rig worker so would prefer that someone closer to the operation explained it to you wouldn't like to mislead.
