Love the post JRDC.
agreed with all of it including (perversely) the title to this post.
Do your worst Trolls.
We are Avacta.
We don't give a *******
Hi Wiggly
I still count myself a ramper and expect AVCT in due course to make my fortune.
But I can always see (sadly in hindsight) the reasons for our big drops of which this is only the latest.
MilkMonsta earlier gave details of a few of them.
There was the huge drop not long before the covid test was announced after which the Kamanis had their placing.
That no doubt provided a necessary balance sheet basis for the second placing which led to the second big drop.
Then there was vaccinegate.
Then there was the gradual drop back down to our old friend a pound on no news.
After each drop we rebounded to new highs.
Our chart is like a Blackpool Roller Coaster and maybe it'll continue that way.
My thinking;
If you are a LTH and not on leverage chill. I felt a whole lot better after dealing with my leveraged debt (albeit incurring a big loss on it). I will think carefully about dipping my toe in leverage again (then probably do it lol)
If you think you can trade the drop good luck you are a better trader than I.
Just holding has always been the best option for me.
I suppose Codejunkie the AIM market itself is a bit nuts.
As MilkMonsta alluded to theres always the potential for this sort of thing to happen.
I've lost many Thousands on paper in the last 2 or 3 weeks but what rankles most isnt that. Its thinking that if I had only sold at the top I could now be in a position to retire much earlier buying back at these levels.
I know however that such thoughts are foolish.
Its difficult to second guess AIM.
So its just a case of trusting my research welcoming current prices as long lost friends (been here 2or 3 times before) and looking forward to the next news.
I won't pretend I am happy with the drop.
I took out a substantial brokers loan at 250 which I had to repay when the price was 165.
That having been said I have a price in my head at which I'll buy more shares with as big a brokers loan as is still available.
Well I guess if the powers that be want to toke the SP down to the bottom they may as well do it quickly.
Interesting conundrum for those that are out and waiting.
Do they come in now or wait and miss the bounce.
That is interesting Poirot.
I can't remember the name of the poster who said that our distributor was trying to persuade him to buy Healgen instead of AVCT.
I took that as a negative at the time but on reflection if they feared being lumbered with a whole lot of unsold stock.......
hmmm!
As Bloodshot said on the NCYT Board
"Testing's coming home from China"
Would be great if that or something like it trended on twitter.
Our distributors appear to be struggling for supply.
Presumably we are therefor not desperate to grasp at deals that don't suit us.
Every credible source agrees that testing levels will only increase from here.
Al has always said that capacity not demand will be the main focus.
Bring on the capacity increasing deal announcing RNS's
Hi Monkshood
Apologies for offending you with my generalization.
In fact I found the conversation between you and Pahoo a welcome antidote to what had gone before.
I see that Saturdays "debates" were dominated by certain posters (or the same one under different avactars) running around in ever reducing circles and eventually being followed up its (or their) own arse (or arses) by the majority of contributors.
Typical Saturday.
I have as much hope of predicting next weeks share price as Innova has of detecting the virus!
But read the RNS record and then use your common sense and what you will discern without any REASONABLE doubt is that the best LFT test in the world will sell in sufficient numbers to fund not so much the exciting imminent AVA6000 trials (which are already covered by funds in the bank) but if all goes well further similar drugs and furthermore the enormously exciting affimer based assault on the way we have been diagnosing and treating various illnesses in the future.
Big Pharma I suspect will out of the blue at a time no one expects start a bidding war for us.
At which one of our inflection points will this happen?
When we start over the next 6 months getting big LFT deals (publicising further our diagnostic chops?)
Maybe!
As news filters through from the ava6000 trials?
Possibly!
I don't know enough to speculate on the likelihood of success of the AVA6000 trials and subsequent pre CISION platform advancement but if AS is hugely excited about them I am not interested in debating with morons(with no more knowledge than I) whether or not he is right to be so.
To sum up for me two propositions are beyond reasonable doubt;
1.THE best LFT in the world will sell and sell big
2.This will give the opportunity that has never been presented before for our friend the Affimer to build on the groundwork that has been diligently undertaken in the last few years and really display its diagnostic and therapeutic possibilities.
The MM's are at it. No way there is a free market in these shares as can be seen by multiple occasions each morning especially at the start of the day when you can't buy or sell.
Our distributors seem to be at it plugging our comparatively substandard competitor according to another poster.
The government are at it. Nuff said.
Most of the press are at it. Earning an easy crust by sticking to easy stories.
Our competitors (or most of them) are at it with dodgy or downright mendacious advertising.
The Civil Service are at it. Preserving their hallowed procedures, Big Picture. What big picture?
But more and more folk are speaking out!
Thank goodness for a fearless MP like Neale Hanvey who can speak out without fear because his party are outliers anyway.
Thank goodness for great Huff Post journalism over and above the usual hacks. They are listened to by everyone.
Thank goodness for the elements in Whitehall beginning to doubt Porton Down(per Huff Post)
Thank goodness that the Labour Front Bench is now aware and acknowledges the Chinese test debacle(per Huff post)
Thank goodness that the British diagnostic industry are beginning to make their voice heard (how long till Mologic Court action?)
The settled view among us is that we have the best test and such evidence as we have exhaustively discussed on this site tells us no different. The cream will rise to the top. The first major order will set the ball rolling commercially and shareprice wise.
So IMO kudos to Sir Al. He is negotiating big deals both for sale and capacity and regulatory stuff. A huge amount of work will be going on in the background all more important than AVCT blowing their own trumpet in the short term (which is not needed and would be a counsel of desperation)
I bet you the 2 tests AVCT went up against in the last RNS were Innova and Healgen.
I also think that we are making good use of that info in our negotiations re private deals.
I have given up on the government.
Anything from that direction will be a nice surprise.
No
They seem to be a supplier of healgen tests and some other Edinburgh companies tests.
They don't supply Innova but piggyback their advertising on the fact that Innova have been granted home use.
Very cute.
You say it wasn't hard for Innova MilkM0NSTA.
Sadly you are right.
i'd suggest however that most of our target market are more savvy than HMG purchasing dept.
The SP isn't pleasant to watch of that there is no doubt.
Researched LTH's that will not be selling in the near future will be sitting comfortably trusting their research and viewing possible blips like us not being the sovereign test or a week or twos delay in dosing in the trial with equanimity.
Thats life,thats sharedealing.
Those who are after money quickly or are over leveraged are the ones who are sweating (and maybe learning a lesson or two).
Substantial orders will come of that I am sure and those who impatiently cavil about them not being here yet simply have no idea of the complex procedures legal and otherwise which go into putting them together. Don't forget either AVCT will not be accepting any old deal. They'll be seeking to source and clinch the most lucrative ones which will after all be taking up their precious capacity
It won't be long and if you have the luxury of viewing your investment in a time frame of more than a month and not be too bitter that you can't put on the down payment on your yacht yet you should imo be comfortable with that.
Would be nice if it were us;
Pro
The government have talked about introducing a greater percentage of British testing!
They have been installing their own machines for the purpose a
nd employing the Toyota engineers!
We are still working with Porton Down and Phe.
We are the best
Against
They used Healgen in school trials (foreign not as good and would have been ordered before our CE marking)!
The government cannot be trusted!
Its never us!
My own view?
Williamson will talk about more accurate easier to use tests tomorrow without naming names and will keep the governments options open.
But bottom line
We will he used in schools
We will be used in Test and Trace
Even if we are used alongside an inferior test.
All imo
SP trundling back up again as usual.
In the meantime
ODX 54-55
ABDX 52-55
GDR54-56
FIGHT!!!
Yep
It would be completely contrary to common sense ( not to mention Bojos laissez faire instincts) to make test and trace and quarantine resting mandatory as opposed to encouraging it.
Doesn't mean that testing is low priority.
Given a good public info campaign which I believe is coming the majority of the population will do it when requested.
All good for AVCT
Well done you re retirement Vegas.
I'll be following in your footsteps when this 4 bags
Leeds University have the right to use affimers for research and academic purposes.
AVCT are the only people in the world who can commercialize them.
I do a bit of employment law.
Employers have a duty to do what is reasonably practicable to protect the health safety and wellbeing of their employees.
They should do risk assessments and effectively control risks.
imo if there was a cluster and the employer did not have an adequate testing policy they would have serious questions to answer.
